Avoid editing your post: it might be too late if the robot has already recorded it.
THE RULES
We accept requests for any movie or series
...even foreign (french, spanish, german, chinese, whatever...).
We dont accept requests for series episodes
...ask for the series if it's missing, but not an episode in particular.
We dont accept requests for documentaries
...unless they are of really great quality or great message (like the few documentaries that make it into film festivals).
Documentaries will have their own separate database, and your collection will be better organized.
We dont accept requests for music concerts
...music videos will be in the music database, and your collection will be better organized.
We dont accept requests for video games
...video games will have their own separate database, and your collection will be better organized.
We dont accept requests for sexy/erotic/softcore/hardcore movies
...sexy movies will have their own separate database, and your collection will be better organized + our database of movies will remain accessible to children + if you show your movie coollection to your friends, they don't need to know that you own an extensive collection of porn.
P.S: Some people don't like this process of requesting movies. They'd prefer if the program allowed them to enter movies even not in the database...
We're sorry for them, but we'll never add this functionality. For 3 reasons:
1) the first reason is technical. Probably you don't realize, but keeping the program responsive while managing such a great number of movies, it's some kind of of "tour de force". If we had to combine 2 databases (our database + a database of movies you've added on your own with a cast of your own), the program code would become even more complex, and believe me, it's already VERY complex.
2) the second reason is philosophical. The philosophy of Coollector is that the users never have to collect information about the movies (that's our job). All they have to do is have fun rating the movies they've seen and adding the videos they own. If a user is missing a movie, we really need to know, because other users will probably miss it too.
3) the third reason is practical. Yes, some day, we'll certainly add the movie to our database. And that day, you'll find yourself with a mess of duplicate entries that you'll have to clean up.
