For the movie lover
Browse our huge database of movies (and series)
with advanced filters and search options.
Personalize it, with your possessions and taste.
Movies that you own have their title underlined.
Colored icons show if you liked or disliked a movie.
A quick glance at the actors or directors filmographies
can help you decide what to watch on TV or in theaters,
or can make you discover movies that you'd like to see
and that you'll add to your wishlist with a single click.
For the video collector
Manage your collection of dvd, blu-ray, vhs, anything...
Remember what you loaned, to whom, and when.
Use the price information to not miss a good bargain.
Print a list of all your videos (for insurance purposes).
New! Manage the videos stored on your computer's disk.
Associate video files with their corresponding movies
and launch them by clicking the "play" icon.
The program can even scan a folder on your computer
and make the associations automatically for you.
2-panels interface
The interface is made of 2 panels: the movie panel & the person panel.
Those 2 panels are separated by a row of 5 buttons.
( "help", "search", "update", "settings", and "quit" )
This 2-panels interface allows for a very intuitive browsing of the database.
You can click the filmography of a person to get more details about a movie.
Or you can click the cast of a movie to get more details about a person.
The icons panel
The icons panel allows many single-click actions.
( like rating a movie, adding a movie to your wishlist, etc... )
There are also direct links to the IMDb, TV.com and Youtube.
To improve readability, all the icons are ghosted
( except the icons that are turned on )
until you move the mouse over the icons panel.
The videos
The movie panel has 2 video boxes.
One to list the videos that exist.
The other to list the videos that you own.
Personalization
Your personal data is visually superimposed on the movie encyclopedia:
smileys represent how much you've liked a movie,
while the movies you own are underlined.
Note: you don't need a "seen" icon, simply rate the movies you've seen.
IMDb
You've probably already heard about the Internet Movie Database
www.imdb.com
We are not related to the IMDb, but many of our users are also IMDb fans.
Indeed, we're not competing with the IMDb, we're just a complementary tool.
To help interactivity, our program provides direct links to the IMDb pages.
The program also displays the IMDb rating and the IMDb popularity.
( the popularity represents the number of persons who voted )
( the most voted movie has a popularity of 100% )
At first glance you can tell if a person was in good or bad movies, popular or obscure movies
Re-ordering
Below each grid, a control allows to order things as you want.
For instance, you can list a person's filmography
ordered from best to worst movie.
Or if you prefer, ordered from most popular to least popular movie.
Searches
To find movies/persons, you can search by title/name,
or you can use a combination of filters.
The filtered search
The filtered search is very powerful,
especially when combined with the re-ordering option.
Here are a few examples of the things you can do...
Discover the blockbusters of the year.
Discover what were the biggest blockbusters of all time.
List the 2005 action movies, from the most popular to the least popular.
List all the movies you've seen.
List all the videos you own.
List all the videos you loaned out to your friends.
Print search results
There's a button to print the results of a filtered search.
For instance, you could print a list of all your videos, for insurance purposes.
Price information
The price search lists all the existing videos from the cheapest to the most expensive.
It's a good idea to use it combined with your wishlist.
The price information allows you to not miss a good bargain, but it's possible to disable it from the settings.
Videos on hard drive
Use the "Play" icon to associate / play video files from your computer.
Character pics
Of course, the program displays pictures of movies and persons.
More surprising, it can also display pictures of characters.

Cooliris view
You probably already heard about Cooliris, a great plugin for your browser:

By clicking a button, you can switch to Cooliris gorgeous 3D wall.
Coollection files
All your personal data is stored inside a single file, that we call the "coollection" file.
This file has a ".cool" extension. It's very small and easy to exchange with friends.
To share your data with your friends, it's the only file you have to send them.
( your friends must have Coollector Movie Database installed on their computer )
Your friends can place your coollection file wherever they want, rename it if they want.
To view you personal data, they just have to double-click the coollection file.
