It might take even more time because its not an easy task to develop for new platform so soon.

So i thought, maybe this christmas.. The android app is a real must have.
Being able to use coollector on tablet or mobilephone, starting the movie
by clicking and sending the command over wifi to the network
Its a dream....

When I wrote this post I was very optimistic because I planned to collaborate with another programmer, but unfortunately the collaboration didn't work out and it was a big disappointment

Not at all, it only means that I'll have to do it myself.
There's still a couple of big features that I want to add to the desktop app, so it'll be many months before I can start working on an Android app, but I can't wait because mobile development seems very interesting and I'm sure it'll be much fun (after working for so many years with C++, it'll be a welcome change).

the Desktop computer c.q. laptop belongs to the past, android c.q. ios are the future !
Personally i ONLY use coollector to know where my files are, when i want to look at a movie
i use Kodi. Because i cannot check/correct the scanmethod of Kodi i have to use coollector for
"finetuning".
What i love about Kodi : I can use the android pc "MiniX" to start my movies over the network.
Because my favourite is Coollector, i would love to use it instead of Kodi !!

I agree that Android is the future (at least the future of Coollector), but what I'm doing with the desktop app isn't a waste of time, it's the foundation for everything (the database, the algorithms, the servers, etc...).
Building that solid background took a lot of years. I expect the development of the Android apps to be much faster.
