How often does Coollector crash on you ?

Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:59 pm

My top priority is to fix the bugs, especially the crashing bugs. With the latest version 3.23.6, I was convinced that the program was completely bug free... until a couple of users broke my dream :cry2:

This poll has 2 goals:
1) evaluate the current stability of the program.
2) get enough feedback to fix the last remaining bugs.

You can post a comment to explain if you're on Mac or PC, under what circumstances the crash happens, if an error message is displayed, etc...

If you suffer some crashes, please try this debug version:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_debug.zip

When crashing, it'll generate a crash dump.

Please mail the 2 files of the crash dump to this address: hector at coollector dot com

Thanks to the crash dump that shandawg sent me, I've been able to fix a crashing bug :yahoo:

Was it the last one ? Hopefully so !

If you had crashes, please replace your Coollector.exe with the one inside this zip:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.zip

and tell me if that version crashes too.

Tomorrow I will release Coollector version 3.23.7. It'd be great if all the crashing bugs could have been fixed :V:

My coll is crashing sometimes. I don't update directly, but dowload.from somewhere else and instal. Because my PC is not directly connected to internet. Usually when i don't update for more than monthe, cool is crashing.sometimes, when it's opened too long.

I don't think this can have an effect on the stability of the program.

I don't think this can have an effect either.

That's interesting, thank you very much.

And it happened during the last week, with the latest version? I ask because there used to be a potential accumulation problem (as you downloaded more and more pictures), but I've modified the program several versions ago.

I never noticed cras on fresh version, that's why I wrotted that is crashing on older ones.
I don't have pictures, and my current version is 3.24.4. I think that is from month ago.
I hope that this helps.

Edit: I forgot to.wrotte that I have chrashs maybe 2-3 times per month. Usually when I'm browsing some longer list of shows or similar. This is all i know :).

I Have latest version from 20th may. It's crushing when i want to rate any movie with any rating.

I tried to reinstal it, and now is working properly.

I'm not sure, on filtered search I put option show unseen (unrated) movies, maybe that is the reason, and maybe not...

Another user has reported the same problem. I've contacted him, but unfortunately he never replied.

This is strange. I'd really like to understand what's wrong.

That's an interesting direction to search. I tried, but for the moment I haven't been able to make the program crash. Please let me know if you find how to reproduce the bug. Thank you very much!

Maybe it's crashing only 10 days (or so) after instalation. I reinstaled it yesterday, and it's still working fine.

Please send me your coollection file at this email address: hector at coollector dot com

Did you change some grid settings recently? Did you change something in the filtered search? Does it crash when you rate a movie while the filtered search is hidden?

Sorry, I'm not currently connected on internet from home :)

I don't have default theme. It's downloaded from here, and with my own picture.

I can't remember was it hidden or not.

My backup file in "My Documents" directory is more than 21 mb large. Maybe that is the problem.

BTW can i delete anythingfrom there without disrupting all wished, owned, rated... etc movies?
