Exactly the four options that crossed my mind when writing my previous post.

Since 4) won't happen soon, I think that 3) is the best temporary option.

That would be pretty cooll but i figured you wouldn't have a chance to do that anytime soon since you're always so busy. :(

3) make your deleter program available on the zip download page, and asking the users to use it if they've downloaded a mix of big and small images.

I'd need to do a bit of code cleanup first but that's possible.

I need to focus first on the features that will benefit the most users, and hopefully make the program more popular.

Only a handful of users download the pictures as zip files...

There are a few grammatical errors on the zipped images page.

I have received your private message and fixed the page accordingly. Thank you very much !

I don't want to abuse of your time, but did you notice any such problems on the home page ?

Sent. I hope it helps to make your English more fluent. :)

I forget quite often that English isn't your first language. ;)

Small Image Deleter

- The file is 66 KB and requires .net framework.

- It should be pretty straight forward to use since it doesn't really have much to it's interface. Please do me a favor and test on Win XP to see if the program's default folder changes to suit the OS (I have no way of testing this). thx. 8)

I'm terribly sorry for your time, but I just realize that your program won't work on a Mac. It's my fault, it should have crossed my mind.

To fix this problem, the fastest solution is that I create a hidden feature inside Coollector that can be invoked with a keyboard shortcut, like CONTROL + I.

Yup, was just talking about the mac thing with someone.

Thank you, but I'm in the best position to write this program. Locating the images directory can be tricky, especially with the sandboxed versions from the Mac App Store.

2) recommend on the zip download page to not download a mix of small and big images.

I realize that it's not so simple. Indeed, before downloading the sets of images, you've already used the program at least a little...

=> you'll have problems when downloading the set of large images because of the small images already on your disk, and you'll have problems when downloading the set of small images because of the large images already on your disk.

=> doing some cleaning is a mandatory operation.

I meant i only remembered then that there was a mac version you would have to consider. I don't have access to a Mac. They just aren't that common here in Jamaica. It is much easier owning a windows machine here and also much cheaper. In my case i was able to purchase a gaming PC with all the bells and whistles for a fraction of the cost of a Mac with much lower specs. Maybe things will change in the future.

I doubt that Apple will one day renounce to its more than 20% profit margin

As you can see, the trend is upwards rather than downwards.

We're officially both stupid :P

The solution is in fact incredibly simple. Since the problem happens only when you move the mouse over a picture to zoom it, it's the only moment where the program has to check for the existence of both the small and the large images
=> the slow down will be negligible.

If a user wants to save space on his disk by removing all the small pictures for which he already has the corresponding large picture, I could still provide the hidden feature that I've already described, but as I said, I'm not convinced it's worth the trouble...
