Is there a reason why you do not distinguish between cinematic release, made for TV & straight to video movies as the IMDb does?

The reason I ask is that I would like to search for TV series & TV movies together & this is currently not possible. As it stands, I have a series eg Columbo on one list & the made for TV movies starring Columbo on another. Also there are many collections of made for TV characters eg Sharpe, Jesse Stone which clutter up my movie list. This doesn't seem logical to me.

The made for TV have the "TV" genre, but you're right that we don't signal the straight to video. I had never thought about it before, but it looks like a good idea to add a "straight to video" genre. Would you be satisfied with this solution?

Our database currently has a problem with the series Columbo. It's not normal that each episode has an entry. It's an error that'll be corrected with the next database update.

In the case of Sharpe and Jesse Stone, I don't know if it's logical or not, but it's not an error like Columbo was an error. We've just followed the IMDb, which is our reference (all the movies and series in our database point to an IMDB page). It's a decision that we took to stricty follow the IMDb, and now we can't decide it's a series when the IMDb has decided it's not a series.

I've checked our database, and to my big surprise discovered that it's all wrong. Obviously, there's a bug that has corrupted the genre of many movies. I will fix this mess with the next database update.

I checked the IMDb & I can't be certain but I think that some of their designations have changed. Movies that were previously designated TV no longer have that designation. You may not have a bug after all. Is it possible that IMDb is the one with the bug?

Thank you, but we really had a bug. A big bug. Several thousands movies in our database currently have an incorrect genre. It'll be fixed tomorrow with the release of a new version.

Cherry on the cake, tomorrow I'll also add many new genres (Talk-Show, Documentary, Short, Direct-To-Video, etc...) ;)
