Did you read this?

http://www.coollector.com/help.html#coollection

http://www.coollector.com/help.html#backups

From your message, I assume that you could recover the last automatic backup. Or maybe you've downloaded it from our server with the menu "Tools->Online Backup & Publish".

Please tell me where you have a problem and I'll help you out.

I logged in and downloaded the program on your home page where it says free trial for windows. I don't where else I can download the program. I then tried going through Tools and Online Publisher but it stated I do not have any collections backed up yet. Still not sure what to do.

If you didn't use that feature to backup your file on our server, then it's normal that there's nothing. I checked our server, and indeed you don't seem to have ever used the online backup feature.

Sorry, there's no magic, if you didn't make a backup somewhere, the only thing you can do is have a look at your old computer disk and retrieve the coollection file from it.

You said that your old computer crashed, but probably the hard disk can still be read if you place it inside another computer. Have you tried it? Maybe you know a friend who can help you to do it?

Yes the hard disc is still good and I saved it. Are there instructions to transfer the program from the old hard drive to my new computer drive or a portable drive.

Actually as a precaution I had my old computer hard drive backed up on a portable drive the latter of which I have connected by USB to the new computer. Is there a location in the files where I can retrieve the latest backup and if so how do I transfer it to my new computer. Do I need to download the program or have I done that already as I described in a previous post. thanks

That's great, you indeed have to install Coollector on the new computer.

The latest backup would be ok, but in your case, you can directly take the MyCoollection.cool file from the old computer and use it to replace the MyCoollection.cool from the new computer (Coollector must be closed when you do that, otherwise you won't be allowed to replace the file).

Here you'll find instructions to locate MyCoollection.cool:

Please tell me if you have any problem.

I just experienced the same issue in trying to transfer my files from my old computer to my new computer. I found the instructions that you posted in the help forum, but it didn't work. I read this thread of comments and found the comment that "coollector must be closed in order to replace the old file with the new file that is created when you download the software to your new computer." As a suggestion, you probably should add this comment to the help forum, otherwise the instructions do not work completely. Thanks.

Thank you, I wasn't aware that this information was missing from the help file.
