Feature Request: Support for multiple formats of same show

Sat Jul 26, 2008 9:39 pm

The interface is *REALLY* cool :) , however....

Unless I missed the 'how to do' this .... :cry2:
I (still) have about 1,000 VHS tapes
I have DVD's
I have LD
I have MPG (Tivo files)
I likley have more than one copy of several shows, and several versions of a given show. (For example - I've got T2 - VHS, Directors Cut VHS, DVD, Extended edition on DVD, and a copy that I saved from Tivo)

There is also a variation of this :worried: - How would I show that I own seasons 1 and 2 of Battlestar Galactica?

{Before I 'invest' a list of time into a final product, I want to confirm that it will fit my needs}

Thank you!

Hi Bomarc, welcome on the forum !

Everything you describe can be done with Coollector.

You can have several videos of the same movie. Click the "+" button to add each video from scratch.

You can enter custom values, by clicking a field and typing in the value you want.

There's a field for the edition (e.g. "Directors Cut"), and another one for the media type ("VHS", or "MPG" if you want).

But in the case of your Tivo mpeg files, I recommend that you don't input them immediatly, because I'm about to add a feature to automatically scan your hard drive for video files.

About "seasons 1 and 2 of Battlestar Galactica", when you add a video of a series, there are 2 fields to describe its content: "seasons" and "episodes".

For instance, if your video contains the seasons one and two, you'll have to input "1-2" into the "seasons" field.
