Hi Hector,

It's been some time that I did a backup to your server and I see the databases are still there.
However when I choose to Backup and Publish, it just shows my database of DVds. When I then go to view saved databases the latest is not there! What am I doing wrong?

Also I am getting a new Laptop and it will have Windows 8. Will Coollector run ok on this?

Regards
Oliverd

I don't understand the problem. Please give more details.

I've looked at the server, and your latest backup was on April, 24th. It's not good?

Maybe I am misunderstanding how the backup works.
I go to 'tools' then choose 'online backup & publish'
select ' backup and publish' at the bottom of the screen
it then shows 'preparing and uploading your data'
then it just shows the 'Coollector Movie Database' with views of all my owned DVD's.
I assume it should have done a backup? But on checking the backup lists no new database has been added. What am I doing wrong?

Oliver

Well, not exactly. The online backup ensures that your last 10 automatic backups are saved on the server. But Coollector only makes a new backup if you've made some changes to your database (rated movies, owned videos, tags, etc...). If you haven't change anything, the program doesn't make any new backup.

Please use the menu "Help->Locate the automatic backups" to check if the backups folder contains some files that are more recent than the files found on the server.

P.S: backups are created when you close the program. Which means that if you make some changes, the new backup won't be created until you close the program.

Thanks Hector,

Now I understand. I have checked and the automatic backups are there.
