Hi,

when you take a look at the attached picture you see the whole screen is filled with
the file association search result, it's window is not re-sizable, is it possible to change this ?
Working on several windows to check and solve problems on a single screen is almost impossible !

Also, as you see on the picture there are almost 800 files to check and i have no
option to remove 1 file when it's ready.
I cannot uncheck all files at once and have to re-scan after every file that i corrected.

grtz

This report lists all the files that don't exist on your disk anymore, and helps you to get rid of those broken associations. Why do you want to remove only a few broken associations instead of them all?

By the way, if you want to remove file associations one by one, you can go to the movie and click the "DEL" button from the owned videos box.

Why do you have so many files missing? Did you move a folder to another location? If that's the case, you can transform the old location into the new location with the menu "Tools->Manage your video files->Batch edit several file associations".

I bought an 16Tb NAS and move a lot of movies to it....
Moving movies from different HDD's. At the same time i check every
movie for plot, label, imdb shortcut, doubles, poster and if it's really the
movie its supposed to be :-)

Scanning the drives/nas after everything is ready is NOT an option, how
can i see if a movie exists at two or more locaions with an empty database ?

It`s an action that takes weeks.... and i have always been affraid
to use "automatic" cleaners. Whiping 800 entries at one time sounds
nice but what if i or the program makes an mistake ?

I'm not sure about this program feature.

That explains everything... And you're not doing the right thing!

When you move the folder "\\QSKINNAS\Films" to "\\BIGGERNAS\Films", the file associations become broken. All you have to do is use the menu "Tools->Manage your video files->Batch edit several file associations" to replace the string "\\QSKINNAS\Films" by "\\BIGGERNAS\Films". And voila! Everything fixed. No need to scan again.

Hmmm....

does it find the movies that where moved from external drive to nas
even if this drive is no longer attached ?
Does this option show me the doubles ?
Does it see if i replaced an old .avi with an .mkv or VIDEO_TS with .mkv ?

The edit tool finds nothing. It just edits all the file locations, replacing one string with another. Since you've moved from external drive to nas, you should easily determine what string to replace. When it's done, you can use the association checking tool to control that everything went fine. This method should be much faster than what you did.

We don't have any method that shows doubles. Only by going to a movie you can see in the owned videos box if you own more than 1 file. But it's not necessarily a duplicate. In the case of series, it's normal to have more than 1 file. Also, you could have a file with the trailer of the movie.

When you do that, the normal process is to scan again and to delete the broken associations.

Hi Hector,

the broken file associations worked fine.... thanx for the tip !

Batch rename location is not possible for the moved files, lets say i
have 6 drives containing movies, i now move all movies
year 2014 from those drives to NAS f.e. 50 from each drive.

When i batch rename the location, the movies that stay behind on the
6 drives are no longer correct. Leaving me in scanning them again !

I thought you were moving entire folders. It's up to you to decide what to do next. Either you scan again, either you move some more files to the NAS...

Always connected are 2 nas drives, but there are other drives containing movies that are
not always connected to the network.

When i use the scan for missing file associations, those movies are removed also.

Is it possible to exclude those drive locations from scanning ?

I just checked and it's re-sizable. You just grab the bottom right corner.

I'm starting to see the solution...

When files are missing from more than 1 drive, the program should display a message saying;

C: 56 missing files
Z: 12 missing files

Then you have to select which drive you want to see the list of missing files.

I think it would solve all your problems, wouldn't it?
