Good Evening,

Wishlist request really, not sure if you are up for it.

Is there a way you can exclude a folder/subfolder from a high level scan path ?? I don't see you can currently.

Something like a 0 Byte file in a given folder say "coolexclude" and you ignore it ???

Just a suggestion, and only a minor annoyance. It usually occurs when i have got some additional movie files for a given movie (so directors comments, bloopers or maybe a cinema intro clip), as often these may not be correctly named or that i don't want to see 3 or 4 copies of the same movie in the scan. I would usually store these in a sub folder under the movie called "extras"

Hope this makes sense and thanks for reviewing my suggestion.

I had never thought about that case, but I understand your situation.

I could exclude from scanning all the folders named "extras". What do you think?

We could even agree on a few other folder names, maybe "trailer" or "bonus".

Sorry, "trailer" is a bad idea. It's good to be able to play the trailer from the program.

Aren't you interested in playing the extras from Coollector? You just have to add the movie title at the beginning of the file name...

Good Evening - Thanks for your reply and thoughts

I believe your suggestion of renaming the files with a prefix name of the movies is probably the simplest solution to my problem. It would increase the number of dupes files in the program, but that's only a minor inconvenience.

My usage of the program is varied, but primarily it's a catalog of my collection and gives me the ability to search and locate movies in a very convenient way. I use the search by actor/director a lot of the time for other movies i haven't seen/not in my collection.

I do use the tool sometimes to play movies when on the PC, but as all of the movies are on disk shares i mostly play them on other devices (android box into TV or directly on tablet or laptop), and they are accessed via shares and all sorted into folders by YEAR

Thanks

Renaming the extra files would be the best solution if you wanted to play them from Coollector.

But in you case, the solution of excluding the folders named "extras" seems better.

I'm ok to implement it with the next version. It's quite simple for me to do.

I've further refined the idea...

When scanning a folder named "extras" or "bonus", the program won't care about the names of the videos in it, and will associate them to the parent movie instead. Then, when Coollector will display them as owned videos, it'll add "EXTRAS" or "BONUS" before their name. Also the program would be clever enough to not count extra files as duplicates.

Seems like the perfect solution, don't you think?

That definitely works for me and is my preferred solution - I just did't want you having to go off and do major work for something that is specific to me.

I think's it's a useful feature and would work also for bonus DVD's BRray etc

8) Thank you

Ok, I still need 2 or 3 versions to finish what I'm currently working on, and then I'll add this feature.
