Hi everybody !

The Coollector team wishes you an excellent year 2009 !
And this should be an exceptional year for Coollector too 8)

Back to subject... As you know, we try to update our database on a weekly basis. But this time, you'll have to wait a little more (just a little). Indeed, we have undergone the task of associating all our movies with their IMDb id. It's very tedious, but it's worth it ! We have already found dozens of duplicate movies, mainly due to alternate titles. It will be a big cleanup. But best of all, it will allow us to provide a direct link from the program to the IMDb. We will also display the IMDb rating from within Coollector.

No doubt you'll love those improvements !

Hi Coollector and a Happy New Year to you as well.

Is the "play movie from HDD" feature on the horizon?

Perhaps after the IMDB conversion is completed?

HDD = Hard Disk Drive
That means playing video files stored on your computer disk

Personally, I don't like watching videos on my computer.

But I'll sure use this feature to associate the movie trailer !

Who knows some good site from which I could download movie trailers (not just stream) ?

I used Google and they have a very extensive list of movie trailer websites. I don't know if this will be of any help. Here are a couple.

http://www.comingsoon.net/trailers/

http://www.empiremovies.com/trailers/

Unless I'm wrong, they're only streaming.

I asked because it's not easy to find. Most trailer sites only offer streaming, not downloads.

The best site I've found so far is this one:

I don't download trailers much but I was looking for an MPG file I could use in some testing recently and found this site.

http://sph3re.tv/

If you click the link it will stream but if you right click it allows you to "save target as" and you can download to your local drive.

At any rate thanks for the update on "Launch from HDD" Cool Hector. I'll keep checking back.

Even simpler: scroll down the page and you'll find several links (H.264, MPEG1). Great !

Hi mate,
Just wanted to say : fantastic program... I've managed to put 99% of my collection onto coollector! Anyway, the quick query I had was whats the update on the new release of coollector? We've been long anticipating the arrival of 2.32... Let us know whats happening... Haven't heard anything since the 10th of January :cry2: Also is this version going to be skinnable? i'm sure you've mentioned about skins somewhere but can't locate the thread.

Thanks Alot,

Your Biggest Fan,

Dark Renault!

Well... linking to the IMDb... our 50,000 movies... was one of the craziest idea... I ever had...
I'm totally exhausted... but almost done !
v2.32 should be ready this week (end) !

Yes, the program will become skinnable, for the sanity of those people who can't stand blue
But I can't give any date because, before that skin thing, I will completly redesign the interface. It'll be gorgeous, with big pictures, Flash interaction all the way, and the Piclens wall directly inside Coollector, without the need to have Piclens installed !
I have to confess, I've already started working on it... because IMDb linking was so boring

Wow, Hector, a double weekend. The 2.32 and the Daytona 500. I don't know if my heart can stand it.
Hey, help an old dinosar out. What does "skinnable" refer to?

Your skin determines how you look on the outside, superficially. If you're black, white, yellow, if you have tattoos, scars, pimples, etc...

A program skin is a combination of appearance settings, that define how the program will look. In the case of Coollector, a skin could change the background of the panels, the color of the text fields, the fonts used, and maybe more... Each user would choose among the available skins, the one that he prefers. Or he could create his own.

It's like cars, which exist in different colors, because not everyone like the same color.

It's a way to personalize Coollector.
