Hour Glass When Auto Update Disabled

Sat Sep 26, 2009 4:51 pm

Hi (cool) Hector,

Recently on my HTPC I turned off Coollector auto update for one particular WinXP userid that I have locked down for read only access.

I've observed that when I start Coollector with auto update disabled the cursor has an arrow and an hour glass instead of just an arrow. The hour glass goes away after you click on something in the center bar (Help, Search, Update, Config). It will also go away if you rollover the center bar icons a couple times.

I don't think Coollector is actually doing anything in the background. Any ideas why it's doing this? It's just a minor nuisance really. It doesn't effect use of Coollector but does confuse someone who associates the hour glass with something happening in the background.

Absolutely no idea...

I also have the auto-update disabled on my computers (because I know when there's an update), and I've never seen anything like that.

I don't know what test I could make to understand what's wrong, because there's no place in my code where I ask the program to show an hourglass.

Does it or did it happen to someone else ?

Never mind!

This is some sort of glitch with Remote Desktop. It only occurs when I access the HTPC from another machine and run Coollector in the Remote Desktop window.
