that allows me to use Coollector as a Media Center & use my MCE remote to browse & play movies?

i would do anything to get this feature, my computer is connected to my HDTV, & its a drag to go to the computer & change the movie every time.

do u think that feature is possible in the near future?

I'm all for making the program work with a remote !

I don't think it should be too difficult. I just need to buy myself an MCE remote.

there's what i could get from the back of the remote:
HP RC2002003/01B
3139 22B 55231
HP SPS: 465539-002
HP: HSTNN-PR07

Well, that's not the kind of remote that I thought :worried:

Your remote is really too basic. Won't be convenient to make a string search.

Some time ago, another user talked about his Firefly remote:

I think I'll order myself a Firefly. If I manage to make it work with Coollector, I'm afraid you'll have to change your remote, sorry.

Another remote, that's not yet available but seems very interesting, would be the Boxee box remote:

When you use your remote with Coollector, nothing happens when you press the arrows or the OK button ?

the arrow buttons act as the directional buttons on the keyboard, & the ok button act as "enter"

Wow, that's great news !

Right now, I'm extending the filtered search, and one of the things that'll become possible is to list only the videos that are on your hard drive.

With the up and down arrows, you'd be able to reach the movie you want.

Now, I only need to detect one of the special buttons on your remote, and to make it equivalent to clicking the "play" icon in Coollector.

What do you think ?

Here's how I see it:

Play => shows the filtered search, displaying all the movies you have on your computer disk.

Up/Down => navigate through the movies.

Rewind/Forward => navigate a whole page up/down.

Play => launch the selected movie in your favorite player.

First, tomorrow, I'll release the new version with the extended filtered search.

Then, next week, I'll recontact you, because I need your collaboration to know what code your remote is sending for the "play", rewind" and "forward" buttons.
