i have 11 seasons of the sitcom "cheers", that's a lot of videos, how can i add them all in one fast way, say i choose the folder where all the episodes are & it adds all of them automatically! or is there no such feature?

Yes, it's possible. In fact, I thought you had already discovered this feature.

Below the movie title, there are icons that are ghosted until you move the mouse over them. At the right, there's the "play" icon. Click it and select "Automatic: scan a folder & associate based on file names".

yeah i tried that already, most of the episodes aren't added, & the rest are added as another movie, there's no feature to just patch add ALL the videos in a selected folder!

How are your files named ?

Tell me and probably I'll find a way to rename them properly.

eg: Episode 101 Give Me A Ring Sometime (Pilot)

i've named all the episodes like that

only 56 episodes were added out of 300 something, & i can't even access all the episodes i have cuz the amount is bigger than what the screen can handle!

The file name must absolutely start with the title of the movie/series.

eg: Cheers: Episode 101 Give Me A Ring Sometime (Pilot)

The scanning algorithm only looks at the file names. It doesn't take into account the containing folder's name.

Sorry about that. I add it to my todo list to fix that problem.

I advise you to use a file renamer.

There are many free available:

Well, that's a complete mystery to me...

Please remove one of those file, by clicking the "owned videos" box, chosing a file, and then clicking the "remove" button on the buttom right.

After that, make a scan preview, and look at the report to understand how magically this file could have been added.

Hey (cool) Hector, I took the advice you gave Kingofhell and gotten a file renamer.

I'm currently renaming all the series in my collection and adding them to my coollection. I use Coollector for movies on my internal hdd and Coollector Portable for series since i carry those around on an external HDD.

Coollector works great when I try to add the renamed files, however there is one small issue,
take a look at this:

Episodes are squeezed in a relatively small list. (And this is one of the shorter series in my collection)
It seems similar to this:

Is there a way to show the episodes in a longer list? (eg. the one on the left) It would be cool if the list was able to stay on screen after i click an episode. That way after i finish an episode id be able to just go back to coollector and select the next in line...

hope there is and its just that i cant find it ;)

At the moment KingofHell wrote this, the list didn't have a scrollbar, and some episodes could indeed be unreachable (out of screen).

Yes, this could be done.

Thanks for the idea, I add it to my (long) todo list.
