Hi (Cool)Hector,

I recall reading elsewhere in the forum about a future Coollector "Encyclopedia" for music CDs. Is that still on the roadmap?

I was thinking about how big that would have to be and how it would work. There must be several million song titles in such a database (e.g. CDDB). Will Metakit scale to that level?

BTW I like the new taxonomy of calling Coollector an "Encyclopedia" of movies. That's an easy way to grasp what you get when you first start out. Good idea.

Regards,
~KnoWei

Of course it's still on the roadmap, because it's a logical move to extend our concept to other fields than movies. But the music encyclopedia is very very far down the road. I don't think it will happen until at least 2 years.

Finger in the nose !

Yes, when I've realized that for quite some time Coollector would be movies only, I thought "Coollector Movie Database" would be a much better name. If one day Coollector does music, books, games, etc... it'll be time to go back to just "Coollector".

Currently, our roadmap looks something like that:

create a documentaries database
create a music videos database
create an adult movies database

(notice that up to here, the name "Coollector Movie database" still applies)

create a books database
create a games database
create a music database (the music videos database will be merged into it)

Oh yes, I forgot... Music will be split in 2 databases, as "classic music" will be a separate database.

Thanks for the detailed update and background on order of implementation. Makes sense.

I had to look this up (English to French and back to American). I'll interpret it as "Piece of Cake!".
