It's normal that it works when Coollector launches the browser. What's strange is that Coollector can download images, but not updates.

I have 2 separate servers for images and updates. Maybe your firewall router is blocking the packets coming from the update server. Since I have a dedicated server for the images, but only shared hosting for the updates, it's possible that you have blacklisted another website that uses the same shared server. The update server is "coollector.net", and it is hosted at ovh.net.

If you can't adjust your settings, I'll make another version of Coollector that looks for updates on different servers.

What does Coollector use, from within it's installation, to connect to your servers to do the updating and downloading? I can find nothing within my system that says anything is broke on my end. Everything is set for permissable and I am downloading with all other applications OK.

Absolutely nothing, it's all coded inside the program.

How are set the rules of your firewall ?
Does the firmware update automatically ?
Can you disable the firewall functionality (to make a test) ?

Hello again Hector,
For you and all who have read our attempts to correct my updating problem, I have it resolved. I had to use System Restore and went back about a week and a half. Apparently, there was some "glitch" in my Network Settings or my underlying System. Coollector now updates and works fine once again. As best that I can see, the problems I had, were not attributable to "Coollector". Hector, I do appreciate you hanging in there with me, for some excellent attempts at troubleshooting. I was determined to remedy this problem, because Coollector is such an excellent program. I still highly recommend this program and your support was great too. Hector, have a great day!
