Hello Hector. I must say that I love the new look of Coollector, you did a great job. However, there seems to be a problem with it. When I look for example at a director, the same movie appears more than one time.

Example:

Alfred Hitchcock

Rear Window - Director
Rear Window - Starring
Rear Window - Production.

Hope you can fix this, so it can be something like

Alfred Hitchcock - Rear Window -> Director, Production, Starring

At first, that's what I wanted to do.

But then I've realized that it wasn't possible for several reasons:

1) there would be cases where the text would be truncated, and the information would be lost, with no other way to have it (unlike a movie title which can be truncated because you can still look at the movie panel to see the full title).

2) it'd be even worse in the future, when we'll add the character names to the database (e.g. "Harrisson Ford starring Indiana Jones").

3) in the case of a same actor playing several characters, we'll be able to provide a picture for each character.

4) I personally like it that it's emphasized when a person participated in more than one way.

I have a small suggestion, I hope you'll consider it. Here it is:

Next to the " Ordered by " thing, you could add a " Sort by " button.

Sort by:

-No filter-
-Acting-
-Directing-
-Producing-

This way, when I'm looking at Hitchcock's list for example, I can select " Sort by directing ", and I will only see the movies that he directed. I think it makes the list too.. crowded, if you leave it like this. Because, let's face it. Hitchcock and many other directors starred in their own movies, but only in a secondary-secondary role - " Man buying flowers ". My point is that some of these roles are not important, and I don't think that there should be a special icon for cases like this one.

Hope you'll consider this. Cheers

Edit: Or maybe you could add an imdb-like system.

Director - 60 titles:

Producer - 30 Titles:

Actor - 40 Titles:

Simply set the order to "profession".

First will be listed the movies where he's director, then actor, etc...

Yes, but then I can't see them by " Personal Rating " filter. 2 or more filters, just like in " Owned Videos " would solve this problem tho. Filter by Profession and by Personal rating.

Anyway, I know that you worked hard for this update, but I just can't get used to the list, just seems to crowded. And now, here comes the question: is there any way I can downgrade Coollector to the older version ? Or do you have any link from where I could download it ? Thanks

Simply adjust the grids to look like the old version:

1) set the style with the picture on the left
2) set the thumb size to the minimum.

Yeah, but the problem is that I still see the same movie 3 times in that list. This could only be solved by adding an extra filter, and I believe that you have other things to do with Coollector right now. So, could you please provide a link with the older version of Coollector ? I really hope you don't mind.
I'm sure that most of the people that use Coollector like the new look better than the old one, I like it better too, but as I said, I want a clean list. I'll gladly update if you will find time to add a 2nd filter, but not untill then. Hope you understand

It was already the case with the old version. When a person was doing 3 things in a movie, the movie occupied 3 rows.

I don't want to add an extra filter, and it's not a matter of time. It's an idea that I really don't like, sorry.

The older version doesn't do anything better than the new version, as you can check by yourself:

It did occupy three rows, but the title only showed up once. Anyway, thanks for the link :)

It's not a big deal, but I'll probably arrange that in a future version.

I've reconsidered my position. It seems obvious that I've made bad decisions. Sorry.

Version 2.99.24 now groups the multiple professions.
