Can you please explain why some of my owned videos (e.g. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) have a cover shot while others don't (e.g. Black Swan)?
Both examples were added in the same way (folder scan) and both movies have cover shots available for various existing videos.

> Also when I place my cursor over the cover images of existing videos they switch size rapidly back and forth multiple times before settling on the full size image with the white border.

Maybe f5 should fix this problem too.

"Black Swan" doesn't have a picture ? That's very strange, because the 2 existing videos have a picture.

Did you add "Black Swan" recently ? After the release of version 3 ?

Because when you've run version 3, it has converted your version 2 coollection and given each of your owned videos the barcode of the closest existing video.

It was a convenience, but from now on it's up to you to associate a barcode (or not). It's automatic only when you add from an existing video.

Do you mean that the image grows, shrinks, grows, shrinks, etc... ?

Or do you mean that there's a small visual glitch ?

I have observed the later on Windows 7. I've even spent a lot of time trying to fix it, but it's beyond me. When I'll have the money, I'll rent a programmer to fix this.

In fact, you have to first click the video, then press F5.

No I didn't

I really am not planing to spend the time to enter bar-codes and I hate the image that shows when there is no cover shot. It would be nice to be able to auto assign bar-codes from time to time (or maybe automatically on each video's addition).
It was a convenience that I'm grateful for and really hope will extend.

If that's not an option would it be possible to use a key combination like the current Ctrl+L to run the bar-code assigning feature of your current coollection conversion code?

Yes, though it happens in the space of 1/4 to 1/2 second. I guess it could be seen as a 'small visual glitch'

For some reason I couldn't get F5 to work... However while trying I clicked and loaded the large Image which replaced faulty small one. Thanks :D

That's very strange. I made the test and I had no problem. Did your video receive a barcode ?

Ok, I'll do that when I'll find time.

If the image shrinks, it's something that I've never observed. What I've seen was different.

You're right, it seems to be broken.

Yes it did. Also Black Swan now has a cover, I have no idea why. Another movie with no cover is 'The usual suspects', it has a bar-code too.

edit: Silly me for not noticing what was causing the problem earlier. My video file was assigned the bar-code of a Blu-Ray disc with no covershot (the one on the right).

I said "I guess it could be seen as a 'small visual glitch'" because thats what it seems like to me except for the times that it happens slow enough for me to see the image 'grows, shrink, grow, shrink, etc...'. Its possible that for some reason it sometimes slows down enough on my PC for me to see that happen but doesn't on yours.
Hope that helps :)

As you can see, it received the barcode of a video with no cover. It's bad luck. When associating the barcode of an existing video, the program doesn't know if it has a cover or not.

If you have a problem with it, replace the barcode by the one you want. You can use copy & paste.

The visual glitch that I've observed on Windows 7 was different. You could briefly see through the picture zoom. But the size was fine.

I was just trying to copy and paste as you suggested when I noticed something.

-----
I can't copy from here because it brings up the video's info. window.

Neither here because my cursor just won't select the text.

The 'barcode' field in the 'edit owned video' window did not allow me to right click and paste but Ctrl+V worked. This might have a limitation because lots of people don't know even simple keyboard shortcuts.

The end result is that I see how Its possible for me to paste but I just cant figure out how to copy. :(

Only the combo boxes can handle copy and paste, with Control + C and Control + V (no right click).

To access the combo, you have to click an existing video and click "add as owned". There you can use Control + C with the barcode combo.

That's how it works for the moment, and I admit that it's not very convenient.

When I'll find time, I'll give the barcode field a popdown, listing all the barcodes of the existing videos for that movie.
