Exactly, it works out the same (even better) :D

You forgot something :D ... I don't usually rate movies.

Good Luck with your endeavor!

Neutral is between good and bad. Sometimes it's a good movie but you didn't enjoy it. Sometimes it's a bad movie but you enjoyed it. And sometimes it's a so-so movie.

Personally, I have a problem with stars rating. A restaurant with 1 star is a good restaurant. The same for hotels. But a movie with 1 star ? Is it a good or a bad movie ?

I've never understood how we're supposed to rate with stars. Is there a consensus ? Or everyone just use the system with his own interpretation ?

You are right, I like what you said, every one like the movie in his own way....

Rating movie or persons in Collector for your own reference only. not for any one else...

For the reasons that I've explained, I don't want to give up our system of smileys. But it stroke me today, that we could add a plus (+) or a minus (-) to the smileys, making the rating system 3 times more accurate.

This way we could rate good+ a movie that we hesitated to rate very good, and good- a movie that we hesitated to rate neutral.

I've added this feature to my todo list. It's in the top 10 ;)

Also, 3 x 7 = 21 => when the import feature is available (also in my top 10), it'll be straightforward to import the ratings from programs with a scale of 20, or a scale of 10, or a scale of 5.
