Nothing fancy, but the current layout looked rather weird.

It seemed obvious that it needed a bit of rearrangement.

I think the new layout makes the large panel look a lot better 8). I however have a feeling that moving the synopsis would be even more of an improvement:

+ Space for larger Movie Poster
+ More space for title (less lines)
+ Narrower synopsis for more comfortable/natural reading
+ Grid has more row space
+ Makes use of space under movie information

- Slightly narrower grid area

I had considered that option, and I really liked it. But there's a serious problem: that doesn't work at all (not enough room) when the window has its minimum height. It'd require to switch between the layouts when the window gets too small. And when the window is barely high enough, you get a very small description unless you make it wider. As you can see, it can get very complex, and I don't know if I'll do it. Definitively not with the next version, if I want it to be released this week-end...

The movie poster on the screenshot wasn't wider because it was the 200 pixels high thumbnail. But if the big poster is available on disk, I can make the poster slightly bigger by using the whole width.

I figured it would be something like that. :worried:

I'm confident that you'll somehow perfect it in due time. I don't know what you'll do in the end but i have a felling it's gonna be pretty kool. 8)

A few more cons:

- With v3.24.8, it's now possible to give more or less room to the synopsis, whether you consider it's important or not. That flexibility would be lost.

- As you said, we'd have to make the grid area narrower, because of the synopsis. And that, even if there's no synopsis at all.

This single-pane thing is so new, and I'm so deep into programming, that my ideas are not completely clear about it. I have the feeling that I might easily be missing something obvious. I will release v3.24.8 like that, because it's the layout that requires the less programming, and after some time of using it, new ideas might come up.

Your suggestions will be welcome more than ever ;)

Also with this version, it'll be possible to collapse the video boxes

(the down arrow is the mouse cursor).

That's it, the new version is finally available. Sorry that it took so long, but I've had to battle with a wild bunch of bugs.

Need help. Was using the latest version yesterday v3.24.7. I updated after bugs were announced and nothing seemed to change. I updated again a few minutes ago, this time the version changed (v3.25.1) but i can see no other changes. Can you tell me what is happening?

That's fine.

When you move the mouse above the rating smileys, can you see plus and minus modifiers?

When you place the mouse below the video boxes, does the cursor change and clicking collapse the video boxes?

When you place the mouse below the synopsis, can you add or remove lines?

Does the tool menu have an option "single-pane mode"? By the way, you can also switch to the single-pane mode by placing the mouse at the border of the panels, or by typing CONTROL + left or right arrow.

I didn't remember that you had finished already. They're great! :D

The area where the cursors change are pretty small throughout the interface. I didn't notice the change over the borders.

Same, i didn't notice the cursor change at all (not until you told me). On the other hand i noticed immediately that the cursor change to the hand cursor when I hover over box while it was shrunken. Why not keep that behavior when it is large and let clicking the top(or empty space) shrink the box?

I figured out the synopsis easily enough after i noticed the cursor changing at the border. It was still very hard to use though. I miss about a third of the time using my touchpad. I think it would be easier to resize by dragging the mouse in stead of clicking over and over again. That eliminates the need to navigate to the small 4px area repetitively and also doubles the click area since clicking top or bottom will have the same effect,

The single pane interface is looking pretty good! :D
It looks even better now that i can actually get a feel for it.

The only thing i'd suggest right now is a bit more space between the lines on the genre and icon lines in the 'Movie' tab since you have more space to work with now. (They look a bit clustered).

One of my favorite updates yet! :V:

I'll add a section to the help page.

I will think about it, but I don't think I like this idea.

At first, that's what I wanted to do, but because there can't be fractions of lines, the behavior would be very strange.

Glad you like it! I wasn't sure if I would use it myself, but thanks to the ease of the keyboard shortcuts, I end up frequently switching between dual-pane and single-pane.

Thank you very much! Personally, my favorite improvement is the 3x more accurate ratings :V:
