Is that possible ?

No, it's not possible to share a database. Each user must have his own database.

Did you know that it's possible to have several databases on the same computer?

http://www.coollector.com/help.html#coollection

In the future, I have plans to improve that. I don't really plan to add the ability to share a database, but rather the ability for the program to display the combination of several databases. For example, you could display the database of all the movies that you own with your wife, combined with the database of your personal ratings. Or the database of all the movies that you own with your wife, combined with the database of your wife ratings. You get the idea?

Unfortunately, I prefer to warn you, it's not a feature that I plan to add soon.

The next version 4.0.7 will introduce a great new feature:
to list all the episodes of a series, and to rate those you've seen.

You can test this new feature in advance, by following this link:

Looks cool,...
funny is that i'm able to rate every single episode worst possible
and still rate the entire serie as excellent :o

Your choice... :roll:

In my opinion, rating the episodes is mostly useful to track what you've seen or not. The rating of the episodes doesn't need to be as accurate as the rating of the whole series, because it's not taken into account by the prediction algorithm.

The new version 4.1.4 brings several new imports. One of them is import a list of video barcodes. At first, you'll probably think that this feature isn't useful to you. But think again... If you have an Android smartphone, there are several barcode scanner apps that can email the history of the last scanned barcodes. I've found 2 of them which are completely free: Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team, and QR Droid by DroidLa. I don't have an iPhone, but if you do, I'm sure that you'll be able to find a similar app on the App Store ;)

With the new version of Coollector Movie Database (version 4.1.6), the interface looks exactly the same, so you'll probably think that nothing has changed. But in fact, a small revolution has been introduced... You can now click the plot of a movie to read it in a bigger window, and even more importantly, you can now add your own plot, review the movie, or write some notes about it!

With the version 4.2.5, the filmography filters have been greatly improved. The program now summarizes the number of movies (from the filmography of a person) that you own, wish, or have rated. Profession filters have been added too, so you can see in how many films a person was involved as director, actor, or crew. You can combine the filters, for example to list only the movies that you own where the person was the director.

It's this time of the year again... Let's take a look back on 2014!

According to http://www.coollector.com/history.html

the main changes were:

* info about the series episodes
* rating of series episodes or seasons
* import from competing programs
* import from Coollector's own XML
* MyPlot, MyReview and MyNotes
* much improved rating predictions
* "not owned" filter

I'm sorry to say that it wasn't the most exciting year. I've spent most of my time fixing things and improving the movie database, and as a consequence the program hasn't evolved as much as I would have liked. Thankfully, this new year should bring way more improvements!

A great year 2015 to you all!!!

If you can't find a movie, the new version 4.4.2 allows you to make sure that it's really missing from our database. Simply paste the IMDb Id of the movie (for example tt0109161), and the program will locate the movie or confirm that it's missing. If the movie is in our database but you couldn't find it because it's incorrectly named, you're welcome to report the error on this forum and we'll rename the movie.
