Auto-upload coollector list

Hi Hector, and happy holidays to everyone!

Here's what I was thinking. A friend of mine also uses Coollector, and, recently, his PC stopped working because of a virus. He couldn't open it at all, not even in safe mode, so he had to reinstall Windows, but he lost many files in this process, including the Coollector list - he had over 800 movies in there. Do you think you could add ( maybe for a certain price ) a feature that automatically uploads the list after a new movie is added to one of your servers ? Some sort of program-web sync. What do you think ?

There are many ways he could have retrieved most of his files... Like plugin his hard disk onto another computer. Or running a live CD of Linux.

Hi Hector,
Just to say I had to restore my Dell system and forgot to back up the Coollector database!
An automatic backup by you would be really useful even to pay a bit extra. Presume this is not set up yet?

An automatic backup by you would be really useful

The program already makes automatic backups, but of course those backups are saved on your computer disk.

We have plan, for later this year, to propose you an option to host your coollection file on our servers.

1) it'll be an extra backup for the case your disk is erased.

2) you and your friends will be able to view your coollection with a web browser or on your smartphone.

3) we'll make anonymous statistics on all the coollections we host, and create a new recommendation feature thanks to that data.

Unfortunately, I already know that I will be busy with other things until the end of the year. But this improvement has a high priority in my mind because, as I said, online backups is the first step to the road that leads to movie suggestions, and Coollector will become even more useful with personalized movie suggestions.
