The Skins Folder

On Windows, it's "My Documents\Coollector\Skins"

On Mac, it's "~/Movies/Coollector Movie Database\Skins"

You just have to copy inside that folder the skins that you found on this forum or elsewhere.

The Windows/Mac font-size problem

http://www.rfwilmut.clara.net/about/fonts.html

It's a complex problem... All you have to know, it's that a font-size of 12 will look smaller on Mac, and bigger on Windows.

That means that if you install on your Mac a skin that was created with a Windows PC, the text will be too small, and you'll have to modify the skin to make the text bigger.

I plan to add a feature where Coollector will automatically convert the font-sizes, but the result probably won't be perfect, and you'll still have to make some manual adjustments.

Pictures size

It's important that you consider the size of the pictures that you use.

For example, it'd be ridiculous to use a 2000x2000 picture for the panel background. The result wouldn't be better. You'd just use a lot of memory, and the program would probably slow down.

It's even worse for the grid cells. The grid cells are rather small, so if you use a much bigger picture, that picture will be scaled down and become hardly recognizable.

So think twice before adding a picture, and don't hesitate to scale down or crop ;)

Custom Colors

On Mac and Windows, the color dialogs allow you to add colors to your personal palette.

This is very convenient if you plan to use some colors in several different places.
