Serious bug detected (program says so!)

Sun Dec 30, 2012 9:08 pm

Hi again (Hector),

I've been using Coollector for some years now and have finally bought a licence today.
The latest version is crashing consistently. I was searching for "Green Zone" in the database and it showed that I owned a copy of the DVD but when I clicked on it ... it was another of my DVDs (Harry Potter pack I think). The program crashed when I tried to close the window detailing that pack. Next time I tried to delete the pack and it crashed again. Next time it was showing a different pack that I own ... and crashed again.
Looks like I can't add any more DVDs to my database until this gets fixed. I wonder if my database is corrupted?

Happy to send you the log and my database if you need it ....

Clive.

"Congratulations, you've discovered a very serious bug !"

I've place this message inside the program to detect a bug that I last saw a very long time ago, and wasn't even sure if it still existed.

Please send me your coollection file

I have checked your coollection file, and it's not corrupted. If there was a corruption, you seem to have fixed it with your last modifications.

Do you really mean the latest version 3.23.7 ?

Because the version before (version 3.23.6) had a bug that happened when the grid was set to display a maximum number of columns. In this case, the program crashed each time it tried to display the word "Production".

Solved :V:

Clive's coollection file had a small corruption that I've fixed. That corruption appeared because the coollection file was created a long time ago, the coollection format has changed since that, and during the conversion this small error was introduced.

In case some other old time users are affected by this bug too, the next version of Coollection will detect and fix that kind of corruption.

For a moment, I've been afraid that it was a very serious bug. But in fact, it affects very few people. Clive is probably the only one.
