Hello, Hector.

I tried to create a new pack with existing owned videos. Specifically, I had a Natalie Wood collection of six videos. Each video was added to the new pack. The package media type was one dvd. There being six separate dvd's for the six videos, I tried to change the 1 to 6. Crash!

Am I misunderstanding the (intended) use of the pack and I should leave them as separate entries?

That is my reading of the crash.

If your videos are physical medias like DVDs, it should be fine. If your videos are video files, then you can't create a pack of video files, and the latest version 3.23.9 prevents to create a pack of videos.

Please read "Why you can't create a pack of video files ?":

Please send me your coollection file as well as your last 5 automatic backups.

Hello, Hector.

I just installed version 3.23.9 and ran it, fresh and default.

I searched for Natalie Wood and selected one of her films. I owned it and created a "Natalie Wood collection" pack. I then selected another of her films , owned it and added it to the pack. The package media type showed 1 dvd. I tried to change it to 2 and the program crashed.

I re-ran the program and it showed two owned programs. I tried again to change package media type # from 1 to 2. And again it crashed.

I've been able to reproduce a crash.

Please replace your current Coollector.exe with the one inside this zip:

and tell me if you still have problems. Thank you very much !

After backing up my Coollector stuff, I uninstalled, deleted Coollector folders and reinstalled.

From this truly fresh install, I ran 3.23.9 and the attempt to change from 1 to 2 crashed. I took the zipped executable, replaced it, ran it and this attempt also crashed.

Please send me your coollection file and tell me precisely how to reproduce the crash.

Your coollection file is "MyCoollection.cool" and you'll find it with the menu "Help->Locate my coollection file".

Yahoo mail may be under atack.

I know the value of keeping it simple when debugging.

^^This I've done in different environments as previously mentioned. Importantly, I've done it from a truly fresh install, unless there are hidden registry entries. When I replaced the executable with the one from the .zip file, there were two owned videos and the collection pack to play with. Just trying to change the 1 to 2 crashed the program.

I just tried again by deleting the owned videos and pack and repeating the steps above with the replaced executable. Crashed.

I've done as you said, and indeed I could find (and fix) a bug. That's why I'm very surprised that the new Coollector.exe didn't work for you.

Please try again replacing your Coollector.exe with the one in the zip. Maybe you made a mistake, and replacing the Coollector.exe is the best way to make sure you're not running the old version.

I had renamed the Coollector executable, which is 4,870KB in size.

I had copied over the unzipped Coollector executable, which is 1,999KB in size.

I clicked on the icon pinned to the taskbar to run the program.

I also clicked on the executable in the program folder to run the program.

I did the steps previously mentioned, either with two videos in a pack owned or none to start with.

All permutations ended in program crash.

You had to change the number AND AFTER THAT move the mouse over the grid containing the pack elements ;)

Here is a new Coollector.exe:

You've helped me fix 2 crashing bugs, that's pretty amazing ! :mysir:

Thank you very much ! :yahoo:

It appears to be fixed! I changed the 1 to a 2 and no crash. I added a third video to the pack and changed the 2 to a 3 and no crash. All the incremental way to the intended 6 videos in the pack.
