The play icon is not ghosted. It is blue. Clicking the icon gives me 2 options.
1. Associate a new video file to the movie
2. The path of the file that is currently associated.
...
post about play button issue i remembered another bug which still insist to live.

If you hit the play button, and got your minimum 2 options (more if it is a series....) described above by prasanna3k but you don't click any of these options, instead you going to click a person/movie title from the grids bellow or the left side (click anywhere else but the drop down menu of play button, the program will crash.

I can't reproduce the crash with the latest version of Coollector. Are you sure this bug still exists?

let me correct myself.
if you open the play button's drop down menu but click on the owned movie (accidentally of course) the program will crash

by owned movie i mean the "box" with the file location info.

Your problem is different... What's the name of your player?

Coollector asks the player to play in full screen mode. That works for most players, but some can't do it and choke. If I know the name of your player, I'll be able to make an exception for it.

Oh, if you have a Mac, then the problem isn't what I thought. Forget about the full screen thing :worried:

What file was associated by Coollector? What happens when you double click that file from outside Coollector (from the Finder)?

Macgo is mainly a Blu-Ray player. Is it a Blu-Ray that you're trying to play?

Because the play icon is for the digital files stored on your hard disk, not for the physical disks...

Is it really a video file that you're trying to play? What file extension does it have?

1 first i click "scan your files" on tools
2 I find a folder 5 movies. I add them to owned. (The files are MKV format)
3 now I can play them. I click on play but nothing happening. Just program starting.
4 When I go to my folder and double click at them I have no problem

What you do is correct. Tomorrow I'll install MacGo to test it.

I've just made the test on Mavericks, and Macgo Mac Blu-ray Player worked fine.

Are you using Yosemite beta?

Is there something special about the location of your files?
Could you please make the test with another location.

Could you please install VLC, set it as the default player for MKVs, and run the test again.

Do you want to switch to VLC (excellent player) or do you want to try to understand what's wrong with MacGo's player?

MacGo's player works fine on my computer. We need to determine what's different on your computer.

Maybe you could try uninstalling MacGo's player, and then install it again, to see if that helps...
