Wed Jul 31, 2013 10:27 am

in a different topic i understood that if a character image are missing the person's image will took over it's place in the character grid section and vice versa if a person image is missing the character image will be in it's place.

movie:
The Avengers (2012) [0086781].jpg
characters:
The Avengers (2012) _ Tina Benko [01620640086781].jpg
The Avengers (2012) _ Rashmi Rustagi [04298670086781].jpg
The Avengers (2012) _ Dieter Riesle [03852470086781].jpg
The Avengers (2012) _ Kenneth Tigar [01080610086781].jpg
all these characters have character images but no person images.

Yes, it can happen, it's not a bug.

Someone has contributed the character images (probably to get a free license), but nobody has contributed the person pictures.

It's always possible to find a character picture (you just need a screenshot from the movie), but sometimes it's impossible to find a picture of the person in the real life.

i don't see it as a problem if character picture can fill person image if no person image found. this can be made possible?

You mean the program would display a character picture if there's no person picture? Sorry, it's not possible. Every time the program would stumble on an empty person picture (and it happens a lot), It'd have to download all the character pictures in hope that there's one (and it happens rarely). It would considerably slow down the program for very little benefit.

It happens regularly that users contribute person pictures that are in fact character pictures, but I add them anyway because I understand that no better picture could be found. I hope it answers your question ;)
