I am running an IMAC with Coollector v3.26.4

I select 'Export to List'
The selection box opens
I select 'Export to Text'
I select one tick box - 'Owned Videos'

Select 'Save As'

nothing happens for 4 seconds, then it closes

No output either

Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks for a great product

The file is supposed to open with your default text editor.

Where do you save it? With what name? If you go to that location, can you find the txt file?

I have tried both save as text and html. Nothing opens nor does it save it anywhere.

I have tried on both Imac and MacAir, same for both.

I am running Mac OS 10.8.5 on both

Thank you for reporting this bug. Now we have to determine what's going wrong.

1) we'll first test if it's a problem with the content of the list. Please mark the movie "inception" as "ordered" and export the list of your ordered movies (should only contain "inception"). Does it help?

2) maybe it's a problem with the location where you save the file. Please try to save to various locations and see if it helps.

3) did you get the program from the Mac App Store? If you did, maybe it's a sandboxing issue. You could install the version from MacUpdate.com to see if it works better.

Of course, when I'll finally know the nature of the problem, I'll do my best to fix it.

Hi,
Ok carried out task 1 - still the same, no output, no file, nothing
task 2 - no problem with the location as it does not generate any output, hence nothing to save
task 3 - If i remember correctly i got it directly from you, i was having previous issues and your suggestion was to get to it you direct.

Any thing else i can try?

Ok, sorry I hadn't understood this part. Seems like we've found the nature of problem.

Maybe it's a problem with OSX 10.8.5 (I'm still using 10.7). I'll get back to you when I'll have managed to test the program with 10.8.5.

I've just tried with 10.8.4 and 10.8.5, and the "save as" dialog opened just fine.

To verify if there's a problem with the "save as" dialog, you could try the other place where Coollector invokes it... Select the menu "Tools->Online backup & publish". If you haven't already saved your backups on our servers, you first have to do it by filling in your username and password, then clicking the button "Backup & Publish". Now you can click the button "View the backups saved on the server". When you'll have downloaded your backups from the server, the "save as" dialog will be invoked. Does it work from here?

Apparently the server temporarily had some kind of hiccup.

That's what we wanted. Now you can download the backups from the server and save them to your computer. Press the button "View the backups saved on the server" as I asked you to do.

Daarc wrote:

I never said that it would make the export work. We're trying to invoke the "save as" dialog from a different location, to see if there's a problem with it or not.

I'm sure that wouldn't have any effect. You've already tried on 2 different computers.
