Here is the fixed version. Please replace your Coollector.exe with this one:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.exe

It shouldn't crash anymore, and in your case, it should also suggest the movies significantly faster. Talking about your case, I have the feeling that you've reached the point where you've rated nearly all the movies that you've seen, and the prediction game isn't useful to you anymore.

Thank you very much for helping me fix this crashing bug. I'll be happy to give you a license, or to a friend of yours if you already have one. :D

Hi Hector, I'm glad if I've helped in any way. I'm testing out the replacement version and I'll keep you posted.

Well, I have had one repeated title in the last session, so that's a vast improvement. Running the game did start out fast but it gets considerably slower as I carry on using it. Also, not every offered title actual carries a prediction, but that may be because of the proportion of films already rated, as you said.

Cheers for now,
Peter

Thanks for reporting that it still happens.

Your case is very extreme. You've played the game well beyond the point where it's useful. I remind you that the goal of the game is to rate the movies that you've seen. Visibly, you're nearly done with it, and it's very difficult to find a movie that you could rate.

It's been a long time that the game has suggested to you all the suggestions it had, and you've skipped them because you haven't seen them. Now, the game suggests movies almost randomly, and you probably spend your time clicking the button "Next".

Sounds like I've 'tested it to destruction', which hopefully has provided every last shred of info.

Just thought I would post as I'm now seeing the same behaviour as initially reported - rate a film within the game, then a little while later the same film shows up, still with a predicted rating despite having just been given one (and, if you click on the movie picture in the game to bring up it's entry in the main window, you can see the rating it's been given).

It sounds from your earlier posts it might be a numbers issue, I've got 390 movies rated, and it's offering predictions for 690, but it's certainly still offering up movies regularly that I've seen but not yet rated. Restarting the game stops it for a brief while, then it always seems to start again

Just done it again (with 'how to train your dragon'), rating it a second time still caused the 'rated' number to go up by one (didn't notice the first time). And again, (with 'butterfly effect'), rating it the first time, and the second time, both caused 'rated' to go up by one...(which leaves me a bit worried that I'm corrupting my database in some fashion).

Hmm. To add to the confusion, playing it again now, it seems that sometimes the rating doesn't 'stick'; I'd just rated 'Johnny Mnemonic', and then it popped up again a couple of rounds later, but this time clicking the picture to bring up the main entry, it just had the predicted rating again...

just edited to add - also now it's brought up a film with no predicted rating at all ('slumdog millionaire'), which I hadn't seen it do before...

not sure if any of that is of any help :-),

Thanks,

Well, if you've reached the point where all the predictions have been proposed to you, it normal that the game suggests movies without any prediction.

Could you please send me your last 5 automatic backups so I can test them.

My email address: hector at coollector dot com

Thank you very much!

On their way...(even if I was slightly confused at first, as I make my own backups on a different computer as well :-)).

One never has too many backups ;)

Received ok. I'll test them tomorrow. Good night! :hi:

Thanks to Orclev's mails, I've been able to understand the bug where a prediction is made for a movie that you've just rated. Thankfully, it's just a small glitch without any consequence.

Orclev also made me discover another prediction game bug. When you've reached the last prediction, the game suggests movies without any prediction, but because of a stupid bug those movies are displayed as having the same prediction as the movie that was displayed before (it's generally a bad prediction).

I've already fixed the second bug, and I'm working on the first one.

Thank you very much, Orclev, for your great help!
