It doesn't crash for me. Does the program crash when you go to the movie "Later with Jools Holland" or "London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony Isles of Wonder"?

Are you using the latest version 4.2.5? If you are, maybe there's a problem with your coollection file and you should send it to me so I can try it.

My email is: hector at coollector dot com

I noticed that in "Later with Jools Holland". And I tried to type "monkeys" in person search, and it cushed. I've just installed new version. I'll send you the file if I manage to find it. I know that it's somewhere in help :)

Edit: By the way, can I delete my older backups without loosing data from Coollector?

Backups are just backups. You can delete some if you think you have too much. Coollector doesn't read the backups of the coollection file, it reads the coollection file itself (you can find it by clicking the menu "Help->Locate my coollection file").

I've tried your last backup, and strangely it doesn't crash. I think I'll have to make you a debug version that will generate a crash dump when it'll crash.

I'll be back in a moment.

Here is the debug version:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.4.2.5.debug.exe

Please download it next to your current Coollector.exe and run it from there. If you succeed to make it crash, a folder should appear with the 2 files of the crash dump. Please mail me those 2 files.

I've managed to crush it again.
Only difference is that now that warning window apeared, and crush was after I clicked on it. On my version of Coollector, crush was immediate.

That seems normal behavior.

In this bug report of the database crashing when one searches by person, and the reply that the bug has been squashed, there is no reference to the operating system in which the database is being used.
It still crashes in Mac OS X 10.7.5 using v 4.2.9.
Thanks

The bug reported happened on Windows and on Mac, and has been fixed on both platforms.

Is it the exact same bug (searching the person name "monkeys") or is it a different bug?

Could you please upgrade to the latest version 4.3.3.
