Post subject:  Backup & Publish crash

Hi there,

I've just tried to add to my backups on the server and found that as soon as I hit the 'Backup & Publish' button, Coolector crashes every time. I have several backups already uploaded and I can view the list of them without any trouble.

Hopefully, you can make some sense of it.
:?
Thanks,
Peter

Please send me your coollection file so I can make the test with it.

You'll find your coollection file with the menu "Help->Locate the coollection file".

It turns out I had to reinstall my OS so, after reinstalling Coolector and letting it update to the latest program version, I've been able to resume uploading backups. I have the program on a Windows 8 PC as well, which I will check to make sure is also working again. I'm going to treat this as closed and I'll re-post if I encounter the problem again.

Cheers,
Peter

Why not a option for uploading the full MyCoollection.cool to the backup server? It could be really helpful to the users on accidental system crash and they could easily recover the MyCoollection.cool file from the server.

By the way,Backup & Publish problem still not solved. For me it worked fine for several times.
But now it is not working.Tried several times but no help.Whenever I download the backups saved on the server I found the backups are almost 18 months old.

It's already the case. When you make an online backup, the program makes sure that your last 10 automatic backups are stored on the server.

Almost a year ago, we've changed how the backups are named, to include the date into the name. MyCoollection90.cool is a file name from the old convention. It looks like Coollector is confused and thinks that MyCoollection90.cool is a recent backup, when in fact it's an old one.

Please use the menu "Help->Locate the automatic backups" and tell me what kind of file names you have. That will help me to understand the bug and fix it.

If you remove from your backups folder all the backups with the old kind of names, everything should work fine. But it's better if I fix this bug for good.

In fact, this bug happens only to old users, not new users.
