Coollector not opening

Wed Jan 27, 2016 11:55 pm

I am using a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.11.3. Since my Mac did an update, I have not been able to open Coollector. When I click the app nothing happens. All other apps seem to work fine. Can anybody let me know what I can do to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated.

It's weird that no error message is displayed. We'll have to try things...

To begin with, let's see if it's a problem with the file that contains your data.

Please go to the folder "~/Movies/Coollector Movie Database/" and rename the file "MyCoollection.cool" into "MyCoollection.cool.bak".

Does the program launch after that?

I renamed the file and the program still does not launch.

Ok. Has a new "MyCoollection.cool" file been created or not?

I suggest that you install the program again. What version are you using? Is it from the Mac App Store?

Dont forget to rename your data file from "MyCoollection.cool.bak" back to "MyCoollection.cool".

Are you computer savvy enough to look into the console to see why the program doesn't open at all?

This should tell us if the program crashes or if it's blocked by the system.

Probably some vital file had been damaged...
