Scan Videos

Sun Jun 05, 2016 5:34 am

Hey

Long time user of this software and I use it nearly every day.

I do find the movies with roman numerals often dont match to movies with numbers.

I use a file renamer (filebot) to match movies to their identical names.

A do find a few miss it.

For example
Back to the future 2
IMDB : Back to the Future Part II

About the only error this software has and has occurred for quite some time.

Otherwise awesome software. Keep up the great work

Thank you for the feedback. I'll look into my code to see if I can make it a bit smarter with roman numbers. Seems doable...

The scanning algorithm already recognized the roman numbers, but indeed it failed when the word "part" was added. I've made the necessary changes...

Now it'll be able to recognize "Back to the future 2" from "Back to the future II" or "Back to the future Part II".

Reciprocally, it'll be able to recognize "The Godfather part 2" from "The Godfather 2" or "The Godfather II".

If you don't want to wait until the next version, you can replace your current Coollector.exe with this one:

You shouldn't have to do that anymore. Please tell me if you find other cases where the algorithm fails.

I've improved the scanning algorithm a little further... 8)

Now it recognizes when you forgot an apostrophe, writing for example "its" instead of "it's".

It also recognizes whether you write the numbers as digits or as letters ("2" <=> "two").

I think those are the most common spelling problems. :V:
