New changes in "Scan your video files" is very disturbing

Sat Oct 21, 2017 6:07 pm

The earlier version function "Scan your video file" of Coollector works very perfect for me and it detects correctly all my TV series directories.

Now I added new episodes of those series, but it doesnt recognise my series and directly put them in "Unrecognised"

My directory addresses are :
G:\Dora Movie & Series\Dora Series\Legends Of Tomorrow [2016 - ----]\Legends Of Tomorrow S03\DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S03E01 - 10 10 2017 - Aruba-Con.mkv
G:\Dora Movie & Series\Dora Series\Legends Of Tomorrow [2016 - ----]\Legends Of Tomorrow S03\DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S03E02 - 17 10 2017 - Freakshow.mkv
G:\Dora Movie & Series\Dora Series\Rick & Morty [2013 - ----]\Rick & Morty S03\Rick and Morty - S03E09 - 24 09 2017 - The ABC's of Beth.mkv
G:\Dora Movie & Series\Dora Series\Rick & Morty [2013 - ----]\Rick & Morty S03\Rick and Morty - S03E10 - 01 10 2017 - The Rickchurian Mortydate.mkv

The scanning algorithm starts by analyzing the file name
=> DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S03E01 - 10 10 2017 - Aruba-Con.mkv

This file name contains a year => 2017

The series "Legends of Tomorrow" is from 2016 => the year doesn't match => the file is marked as "not recognized".

I think I should change the algorithm to match all the years the series was on air, this way the year 2017 would be considered as OK.

I worked fine in my earlier version of Collector.

Well right now I am using v4.9.9.3

and I read in another forum that Coollector v4.9.9.4 fixed some issues.

I there any chance to only download the 2.52mb Coollector.exe file? because right how I dont want to download the whole ~130mb :worried:

Please replace your current Coollector.exe with this one:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.exe

It's the most up-to-date version of the scanning algorithm, including matching all the years a series was on air.

P.S: There'll still be a problem with DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but this problem is not because of the year. I need to make a change to the database AKAs to make it work fine. So it'll work only with the next database update, sorry for the inconvenience.

I replaced and my Windows didnt let me run it but I clicked on "Run Anyway" and had to add the Coollector path to Avast's Exclusion list. Maybe thats just a security issue of Windows OS.

Well v4.9.9.4 solved my problem temporary. Atleast it recognised my episode but with a different series but when i ask it to use "Folder Name" then it take the right one.

Maybe you will fix this issue soon. But still I am satisfied with the fix since I dont have to associate the episode manually.
