I did a search on a show and the appropriate Coollector search-results page came up, then I wanted to go to the show's IMDB page, so I clicked on the IMDB icon on the page, and it caused my FTP program, Cyber Duck to open. It did so repeatedly, but I denied the FTP connection and shut down Cyber Duck each time. This has never happened before. I was using, v4.10.6, which worked normally before today, so I doubt that there's a bug in that version. Why would the IMDB icon open an FTP program?

I shut down Coollector, opened it again, and found that v4.10.7 is available, so I installed it, and the problem is gone.

I'm going to blame this on my Mac. I hadn't shut down Coollector or my Mac in weeks, so the Mac probably had something garbled. Besides, if I'd been hacked, the malware wouldn't notify me that it was opening an FTP connection.

I really like this feature of Coollector, the way icons are clickable and open web pages, so I'm not complaining. That's brilliant. But I thought you'd find this behavior interesting. I doubt I'm the only one who has Coollector always open, so if it happened to me, it could happen to others.

When you click on a link, your system launches the default app to read that link, i.e. your default browser. It's weird that the system made such a mistake, maybe it thought it was an ftp link instead of an html link.

It doesn't seem that your system was corrupted by a malevolent application. In my opinion, it's more like a temporary hiccup of your system.

It would have been great if you had shut down and restarted your computer. My theory is that a component of the system hadn't loaded fine.

Yes, that's what I though, a Mac hiccup. I don't blame Coollector at all.
