Probably I am doing something wrong.
I started the program, rated some movies, closed the program.
When I am starting the program again I see the initial collection file: without any rated films, predicted rates etc. When I close the program and start it from Explorer by clicking the saved collection file I see again the initial file.
I tried uninstall and re-install the program. It does not help. Windows 10.

What should I do?

When you launch the app, it reads the coollection file from the default location, and visibly it's empty.

I doubt the location you're going to with Explorer is the default location. At some point you must have moved your coollection file to another location... Are you the person who contacted me privately about having your coollection file on the network to share it between several computers?

If you want to find out where the default location really is, simply launch the app (it'll open the empty default coollection) and use the menu "Help->Locate the coollection file".

And how to start the program to get the existing collection?

I did it. There is only one place with collection file. Due to some reason it is One Drive folder. I did not define it. It is defined by program during default installation. The application comfirms it ("Locate the collection file" menue).

It's the first time I hear about this kind of issue with OneDrive. Very weird!

Now I'm confused, I need a recap...

You're saying that when you launch the app it opens an empty coollection file located in a Microsoft OneDrive folder?

What about the coollection that contains some data, where is it located?

It is right.
Default collection is in One drive folder: OneDrive\Documents\Coollector\.
The existing collection file is in the Backup folder: OneDrive\Documents\Coollector\Backups\.

Windows search shows that there is not any other collection file in hard drive.

Thanks, it's clearer now.

In fact it's easy, you just have to copy the coollection from
OneDrive\Documents\Coollector\Backups\
to
OneDrive\Documents\Coollector\

Make sure that it has the exact same name in order to replace the empty coollection and become the new default coollection.

On my side, I will investigate this OneDrive thing, because it doesn't seem normal that your default location is on OneDrive. Have you done something special? Did you intentionally move your whole document folder to OneDrive?

I tried it: copy the collection file from \Backups with name correction (cutting the creation time from the file name). It does not help. When I close the program this file is changing with default collection file.
It is very strange: it works but not the right way.

I use OneDrive from time to time, but I did not do anything special for ONeDrive. Maybe it was changed something during Windows update.

I would tolerate it if I could open the needed collection file from Explorer, but I cannot!
When I click the file in Explorer it opens the Collector with default collection.

All this is very confusing, even for myself.

Are you sure that the backup contains data? What's its size? Please send it to me so I can check it.

My email address: hector at coollector dot com

I am not sure. But it has the size which is bigger than one of the default file.

I attached two of my collection files. I hope they contain something useful. Otherwise it will be even more strange.

I've copied the files to my desktop and launched them by double-clicking.

First file has 80 rated movies, second one has 110 rated movies.

Could you please make the test of placing the files on your desktop? I'm starting to suspect that it doesn't work well when the files are in a OneDrive folder...

Are you really using OneDrive?

Probably it would solve all our problems if you disable it:

That's what I've done on all my computers...

What else is inside your OneDrive?

Be careful before you disable it that it doesn't contain anything important ;)

I tried it before and tried it again. It does not help.

That's amazing it doesn't work even on the desktop. You should really get rid of OneDrive. This thing is a PITA that bothers even the persons who don't care about it.
