Sorry about your problems. We'll try to understand what's wrong.

We could start with a simple test:

1) go to "My Documents\Coollector"

2) rename the folder "Tmp" as "Tmp.bak"

3) test the program again

renaming tmp in tmp,bak didn't help.
I de-installed the program and its data completely.
Installing 2.63 gives the same problen then. The program will not start:
the error message:

"c:\program files\Coollector\coollector.exe
The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

Installing 2.62 gives no problems. Only i have to disable the automatic update.

You can't stick to v2.62 forever...

Here's another test:

1) upgrade to v2.63 again

2) replace Coollector.exe with this one:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.exe

3) launch this new exe and tell me if it works better

It's magic to me, but I thank you very very very much for your quick response.

I wish you and your team and love ones a very happy new year.

I've reverted some changes that I had made to the program.

But I still need to understand why there's problems with some users.

I wish you an happy new year, but I'd really appreciate if you could make a few more tests for me, let's say when the celebration is over in a day or two.

Your collaboration would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much !

There's another test that I'd like to know the result...

Is this other version working or not:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector2.exe

(it's fine if I only get your response on Monday)

No this version is not working and the error message is exactly the same as after the automatic update from 2.62 to 2.63 (my original problem).

Happy New Year.

I am a new user (Vista) just downloaded last week. I spend hours adding movies, and had an issue this morning. It automatically downloads 62,945 of data, makes me click a button that says I have to close before using the new program, and everything quits when I do. When I kick off Coolector again I go again through the same process, with the same result.

I went to the Forum, and 1st tried renaming the backup with not results. I then tried the 1st program change, which did work. I did not try the 2nd.

I am just leaving this info to help you debug.

Ken

I will need your collaboration to understand what's the problem.

P.S: I have modified the files of v2.63 for no one else to have this problem again.
