Post subject:  edit a location in a pack

Hi Hector

I am trying to edit a movie that is in say a 33 pack location and the name of the pack is "Disney". I wish to move a particular movie to another location but it could stay in the "Disney" pack. If it is removed from the pack that is ok too.

The problem is that when I "remove it from owned" (since there is no "remove from pack") it deletes all of the movies in the pack and now I am trying to remember which ones they were so I can re-enter them. When I edit that one movie to change the location it changes the location for the entire pack.

I am thinking of removing all of the pack names since I have had so much difficulty with them.

How do I do that without losing my entries.

thanks

Tony

Of course, the location is the location of the entire pack. A pack being a box that contains several movies, all those movies are located where the box is located.

Yes, clicking "remove from owned" will remove the entire pack. To remove only one movie, you must click the "-" button (minus button) that is on the right of the movie name. You'll have the choice to either extract the movie from the pack, or to remove it completely.

Now that I've told you how to extract a movie from a pack, do you still have some difficulty with packs ?

You're using the pack feature in a way that it's not intended to. The pack feature is for real packs, that is a box that contains several movies.

You could find your Disney movies by searching status = owned + studio = Disney.

In a few months, I will introduce a new feature to tag movies. For instance, you'll be able to find all the movies that you've tagged with the word "Disney". Of course, it'll be better to use this tag system, rather than creating packs that in fact are not real packs.

That clears it up. I did notice that "location" is different from "pack location".

Since there are some default movie packs that are incorrect or do not match what I have in my possession, I have learned to selectively delete and add movies to correct my pack collection.

I look forward to the tag option to further categorize the collection, i.e., "Christmas" (movies). Will this feature be a sortable filter?

thanks

Of course there'll be a tag filter.
