I tried opening from an icon, programs/Coollector, etc. hourglass icon shows for a split second then nothing happens. When I shut down to restart the warning pops up asking to cancel or end program so it does seem to open but is not visible on the monitor or in task manager.

Coollector was added to Mozilla security as an allowable website for add ons.

I also tried to open a backup file but same result.

Please advise

thanks
Tony

It seems like the program is opening in a position that is outside the visible screen.

Are you at ease with computers ? Can you look at the registry with the regedit.exe program ? If yes, I'd appreciate to know what are the values of the Coollector key.

Otherwise, no problem, here's what you should do to fix the problem: uninstall the program, then installing it again. Your coollection files won't be deleted by the uninstalling, but you can make a backup if you really don't want to take any risk.

What does it mean ? Is it good or bad ?

the Mozilla comment was to let you know I searched the forum before I posted my topic. In a previous post another user said they cant open Coollector and there was a suggestion that internet security settings may have been the reason.

How do I back up my (last) file before I uninstall. If I uninstall does it remove all of the back up files with it.

thanks

Tony

Uninstalling won't delete the backup files, but if you're paranoid, you can make a copy of your backup files into another location.

But wait, wait. I'm creating a version that will check that the window isn't out of screen. I'd like you to test it and see if it fixes your problem.

Please replace your Coollector.exe with this one:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.exe

and tell me if it works.

IMPORTANT: you must make sure that Coollector isn't already running. Either kill it from the task manager, or restart your computer.

Hector,

I wasnt sure if Coollector would be considered open if I go to Programs/Coollector/Support Forum to get to the link to click on it. I bookmarked the link you gave me just in case I click on the link and Coollector is open during forum use. Does it matter either way.

thanks

Tony

This has nothing to do with the forum.

The link I've given you is a new version of Coollector.exe that I've created to fix your bug.

Please restart your computer first, then download this new Coollector.exe and use it to overwrite your current "C:\Program Files\Coollector\Coollector.exe".

After that, hopefully Coollector will work again.

Too bad, maybe the bug is not what I thought it was.

So let's go for the uninstalling solution: uninstall Coollector, then install it again.

No trouble at all. I like your program.

p.s. on a side note is it possible to get the length of the movie on the movie panel next time you do an upgrade. Movie lengths vary on the IMDB website depending what country is referenced. I know you pull other info from there.

thanks

Tony

I feel embarrassed when a bug makes you lose some of your precious time.

Not with the next update, but it's something that I'll do, I don't know when.
