My best guess is that Windows has asked you the permission to allow the execution of the updater, and that you have answered "no".

Please try again, and this time, when Windows asks you to allow or not, you must answer "yes".

Maybe one specific configuration that i should tell is that the users folder is on a different disk

I'm sorry, I completely forgot about your message. In fact, this bug has been fixed with version 2.99.8.

Since you have a version whose automatic update is broken, you'll have to install the new version using the setup (no need to uninstall before):

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_Setup.exe

or, if you use the portable version:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_Portable_Setup.exe

I installed v.2.99.9 that should be latest available, but the problem is still there

I'm sorry, I have no idea why you have this problem.

Please make the test to right click on the program icon and to choose "run as administrator".

I tried running as admin and nothing changed.
I tried to completely remove the software and all file coming from it and reinstall but result is still the same

For your reference i found this thread :
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=de ... id=1093080
clearly for a different product but same error.
It look like issue might be i'm running from a 64 bit windows.
Can you please verify compatibility for 64 bit? could that be the problem?

This hypothesis is indeed very interesting.

Thank you very much, because I had no clue in which direction to search.

I'm not sure what I have to do, but I'll make some research.

Please replace your current Coollector.exe with this one:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector.exe

and tell me if the bug is fixed.
