Where are they located on your hard drive ? Looks like you didn't install in the same location as the first time.

Are you using the normal or the portable version ?

The set up and .7 program are in the same folder - downloads. But when i run the set up it installs the .9 version in the program files folder. I tried browsing coolector .7 in the 'choose install location' screen, but it doesnt come up as an option.

I don't know how it got there, but it's not important. You can delete the Coollector.exe from your "downloads" folder. It won't have any consequence. There's probably also a "History.txt" and a "uninstall.exe" to delete.

You run the setup:

http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_Setup.exe

and you install where Coollector is already installed. Should be inside "Program Files".

Not sure if it's related and if it can help you but now when i run a scan for movies I get this error:

What's the directory that you're trying to scan ?

Because apparently Coollector can't open that directory. I will modify Coollector to not display the error message, but the problem still remains that it can't open the directory, and I suppose it's probably related with your update problem.

The directory is a shared folder on my network on the Imega director, but this was working fine till some times ago (maybe some previous version of coolector or before i upgrade to windws 7, can't say for sure which of the 2).
I can access the shared folder without problem from my OS.
IS coollector trying to write something on the folder it scan? I'm not sure i have write permission on all subfolder.
If I run the scan on a local disk or USB disk there is no error.
Sorry for not replying so promptly as you :)

Please upgrade to Coollector version 2.99.11. This new version now displays a message when it can't open a folder. Do you get a message ?

For the moment, I have no idea why the folder can't be accessed. I will make some research about shared folders.

I made some testing with shared folders, and I don't see any problem.

Your shared folder is on which computer ? Which Windows ?

And you access it from which computer ? Which Windows ?

What's the path of the shared folder ?

Shared folder is on the iomega screenplay director, it run a customized linux distribution.
Accessing from network share i have no problem readin or writing.
I mapped the folder as drive z: (\\ip\screenplay).
I'm accessing from windows 7.
With previous version of coollector (I'm quite sure i tried even after upgrade to windows 7) I was able to access it without problem

Doing some additional test i found one folder on the same share i was able to scan correctly.
Will run some additional test and check permission on the folders and will let you know

Well it look like it's some problem related to some permission even if i couldn't figure out exactly which. All subfolder seems to have all the same permission but some are not accessible by coollector.
I created a new folder and moved files inside and can be scanned succesfully.
The problem happen with the subfolders, some are just ignored and some are reporting the error message.
If the video file is directly inside the directory i select to scan the file sometimes is discovered succesfully, sometimes is ignored

All this is very strange, and I don't understand what's happening. :worried:

If you didn't get a message saying that the folder couldn't be opened, then we can try to understand why the file was ignored.

Please give me an example of a file that was ignored.
