Hi Hector,.

I scanned my local HDD directory "check" and all movies where added to the database, only
the unknown movies where not in the list. New scans on some other directories resulted in
an empty list added - 0 / already in - 0 / failed - 0
The scanned directory´s contain lots of movies !

Scanning works fine on my computer with version 3.16.

Is the checkbox "include subfolders" checked ?

I can't see on your screenshots... What's inside the directories ? What's the files format ?

Hi,.

Inside the directories are .avi´s
The movies are selected by me for replacement (avi => DVD5)
They are no longer in the database, i scanned all HDD´s again and
seperated those movies from the scan area´s
So scanning the directorie "a kwaliteit" should result in
"added to the database - 35 movies"

Tomorrow i´ll test if the error is HDD_6 related

HI,.

Hector, ALL the movies that where already on the HDD are completely ignored
by the program, only newly added movies are detected and scanned !
When i start over with a new .cool there is no difference.

As you can see in the screenshot below there are 9 movies in the scanned directorie
and only 3 are detected ! I wanted to test on another drive,..... Sorry, they are all full.

That's very interesting. At least we know that the HDD can be read.

During the scanning, the program displays the number of "added to the database", "already in the database", and "failed to be added". Are you sure that "already in the database" remains at zero ?

Maybe I know where the confusion comes from.

When the program finds a file already added, the display isn't updated. The number is only updated if you scan a file not already added, or at the end.

I will arrange that, as it can be misleading.

Hi Hector,.

The files added etc. remains zero, as you can see in the screenshot.
The movies have not been added to the database because i´m going to replace them, they
are separated and i just wanted to make an scan preview so i could print an list of them.

Coollector should reconize the movies as new movies !!

I'm a little lost :(

How did you separate the movies ? Because if you move a video file from the drive "A" to the drive "B", then Coollector will consider that it's still the same video, and that your HDD was just assigned a different letter when you plugged it.

But those videos should appear as "already added".

I have modified the scanning algorithm as I said I would. It'll be better if you use this version. Please replace your Coollector.exe with this one:

Hi,.

The resizing problem is gone ;-)
Scanning still doesn´t work

How do i work :
i scan only HDD´s that are 100% oke (full & oke)
I work with one HDD whitch contain several folders
a) check
b) quality check
c) replace
d) HDD_#

ALL movies go into check, if the name, the quality and all other things
are oke the movie goes into folder HDD_#
When ALL movies are oke, HDD_# is full and all other folders as HDD_#
are empty, first then i scan the HDD for real,... and NOT before that.

So the movies in ALL the folders on the HDD should be found by
coollector when i perform a preview scan !
Coollector just refuses to scan the HDD and somehow only accepts
movies that are COMPLETELY NEW on the HDD

Maybe i will :-)

Well anyway, this is the way it is,..
Coollector scans the directories 1) check / 2) HDD_6
Only the new movies, moved from internal HDD to external HDD directorie Check and
directorie HDD_6 are regonized

All other movies on the external HDD in the other directories are
completely ignored by coollector. When i scan the complete HDD
see the result below :
The option scan subdirectories is on

Attachment:
File comment: Scan of the problem drive L: containing directories like (check) and (HDD_6)
complete.jpg
complete.jpg [ 15.18 KiB | Viewed 8314 times ]

P.S.
When i scan f.e. my system drive, the drive starts spinning and new loaded
movies are found. Scan of drive L: doesn´t even spin the drive, the results
message is directly there.

If you like me to try specific things, please just ask me !

Nothing changes, i installed (coollector300) at an new location, completely
removed v3.16. The problem must be local !
The hdd, windows7 or even a installed program,... i dont know

The only strange thing in my opinion is :
Scanning the root of HDD_6 - nothing happens
Scanning dir. check - some newly added movies are found
Scanning dir. HDD_6 newly added movies are found
Scanning of 3 other dirs on HDD_6 - nothing happens (dirs are filled with movies)
When i scan the root of the hdd, the newly added movies in dir hdd_6 & check
should be found also

I scanned the hdd with several programs to find out if the hdd is corrupted
without finding any hdd related problems.

I will install coollector on an second computer and see what happens,....

That's what I thought, because I can't see anything in my code that could explain this strange behaviour.

Anyway, all this is very mysterious. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I could do :worried:
