you need to add a backup function

I reconsidered the question, and Coollector 2.06 adds an automatic backup function. Thank you very much for the suggestion !

How it works: every time you leave the program and some changes were made, Coollector will create a new backup in the directory "Backups" which is located in the same directory as the coollection file.

When I installed the update, my coolection disappeared. The only movies that I now "owned" were those I added tonight. I looked in My Documents and there was a backup folder named coolector0. This contained all my movies so I moved it to the coolector folder, renamed it without the '0' and relaunched the program. Everything was back! I just added the new movies again. Why do you think this happened. Thank you for the backup.

I suspected this hiccup would happen, though I wasn't completely sure.

This happened to you because you had made Coollector "run as administrator".

"run as administrator" has allowed Coollector to write to the "Program Files" folder, and your latest changes were in this folder. Other Vista users, who had kept using Coollector normally, had their latest changes in the "VirtualStore" folder.

Coollector 2.06 moved the files to their new locations, and made backups of the coollection files for safety. The normal backup was for the coollection inside the "VirtualStore" folder, but I also made a backup0 for the coollection inside the "Program Files" folder. And in your case, it's backup0 that held the most recent changes.

Those Vista problems have been a real pain in the *** to solve (hate Vista).

I'm glad and impressed that you figured out all on your own that it was backup0 you had to use !
