Crash after V3.21.6 Update

Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:15 am

Hector....Love the program...Excellent job...

After auto updating V3.21.6 when logging in, Program asked for restart for changes to be made. Restarted program. Program starts then hangs. Then disappears. A few seconds later, a notice from Nortons Internet Securty "SONAR" show up saying that it grabbed coollector.exe and quarantined it. Norton's shows "coollector.exe was behaving suspiciously on your computer. This program was removed."

How do I get it back to V3.21.5 without losing what movies that have been entered?

Thank you in advance...

There shouldn't be any problem with your personal data, I doubt that Norton erased it.

Maybe Norton has just a problem with updating the program, not with the program itself.

Have you tried installing V3.21.6 ? What happens ?

If V3.21.6 doesn't work, here you can find V3.21.5:

Thanks for the link to V3.21.5.

Like I said...I have the program set to auto update when I logon to the database. It downloaded V3.21.6 then expanded and installed then said the program needed to restart. It did that but only lasted say about 20 sec. until Norton's SONAR grabbed the .exe and quarantined it. It didn't delete anything that I know of. I unquarantined the exe. and started the program again but SONAR grabbed it again. I previously didn't have any problem with V3.21.5.

I will reload V3.21.5 and turn the auto update off and make sure everything is still there. Then later try the update again.

If anything changes please let me know...Thx...

I don't think that version V3.21.5 nor V3.21.6 has a virus.

V3.21.6 has been added to several serious sites that make a virus check (download.com, softpedia, etc...), and no virus was reported.

Norton said that the program was having a suspicious behaviour. I think that Norton didn't like the fact that the program was updated.

Norton is wrong. It's what we call a "false positive". It's not the first time that we have problems with Norton. Norton is not a good anti-virus. We can only hope that a future version of Norton will fix the problem.
