I had a pre-experience of situation like this.

When Coollector Movie Database was not responding I used to force close it.
I found that it had doubled the MyCoollection.cool file.(I don't know it is a bug or not)
From then I found various problem related to Coollector Movie Database.

I export all my data and re import to a new MyCoollection.cool file. Thus the problem is solved.

Now whenever I facing the doubled problem I use the last backup file.

Sorry, I fail to see the relation with "strange caracters when exporting".

I don't understand how the coollection file can be doubled. What's the path and name of the coollection file, and what's the path and name of the double?

Sorry, Double in size.If the MyCoollection.cool file size is 150KB then after this problem (not responding) it will be around 300KB.

I think I could explain this. When you make changes to your coollection, the file size increases, but more than necessary. That why, after a change, Coollector has to compress the file. But if you terminate Coollector, then it can't compress the file.

Is the bigger file working or not working? What were you doing when the program freezed? Did it happen recently with the latest versions?
