Great application, I have been using it for a while.
History - lots of films on USB drive everything works great
Now I have a new NAS Synology 1511+ and when i select 'scan my files' it can see the files but they are all 'greyed' out and it completes the scan and does not find any films even though there are hundreds on the NAS.

any help greatly appreciated

Did u check to make sure that the file names match the names of the movies in Coollector? I usually have problems because of files that are incorrectly named. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your response,

it can never actually select a file to put in the database, as they are 'greyed out' and unselectable.

The file selection dialog is a standard Windows dialog. I don't know what greyed files mean. Please use Windows Explorer and make a right click on the files to see their properties. Are they "read-only", "archive", "hidden" ?

I remember that a user had this problem with his NAS. I'll try to find the thread.

Files were hidden. Is it your case too ?

Hi and thanks for the responses.

I had wrongly assumed that you were a Windows user.

I'm not a Mac specialist, and I'm not sure that I understand everything.

Do you think your experience could help this other Mac user ?

Yes, exactly the same problem, you have to connect using

smb://192.168.10.57

It does not seem to recognise AFP shares

Does it work with smb ?

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll see if it's something that I can fix. Probably I'll have to ask for help to the wxWidgets community (Coollector is built with wxWidgets).

I wanted to make the test with my own NAS (a D-Link DNS 323), but it fails to connect with afp, and works only with smb.

I tried on a MacBook with Snow Leopard, and I also tried on a Mac Mini with Lion. Same result :sorry:
