A question before i start to download anything: Coollector downloads and store in \\Coollector\Images\MoviesDpt\Items it's needed pictures; i can see them browsing through that directory and they are images xxxxxxx.jpg at size of 150x200 pixels. For movies that i own, these images are doubled with images xxxxxxx_b.jpg at size of 420x550pixels. If i download and replace small or big images, what i'll get? And even more; even if i can see these small thumbnail images locally, coollector took to long to load and refresh them. Why? always will try to download these thumbnail images first? if i replace them with the "small" images, will load them faster? these image packs are up-to-date packages? or only till 02.02.2013? |

The program downloads the big version of the image when you hover the mouse above the picture. What do you mean by "doubled". Normally, as soon as the big version is downloaded, the small version is deleted from your disk. Do you have both versions of the same image? Nevergreen wrote: If i download and replace small or big images, what i'll get? You have the choice to download the set of small images or the set of big images. You choose the set of small images if you want to save disk space. Nevergreen wrote: even if i can see these small thumbnail images locally, coollector took to long to load and refresh them. Why? Please explain exactly what problem you have. If you have a slow connection, it may happen that the images are slow to download. But once the images are on your disk, it should be very fast. If you have a slow connection, it may happen that the images are slow to download. But once the images are on your disk, it should be very fast. if i browse through the image forder of coollector , there i can see on my HDD all these small images, all has around the size of 150x200 pixels and if i open coollector they suppose to load very fast because i already have them on my HDD, but NO. They load very slow even if is no hover on any of them. I can understand that hover any image needs to download the big image, but i can't see the small one either, need to wait for it just like as it is downloaded at every single access. My internet connection is very fast, that cannot be the problem. i use the portable version; from HDD is a bit faster, from memory stick a bit slower, but both seems to "download" images every single accessing time and not using the local files. Maybe i'm wrong but that's my opinion; a local file should load much faster. |

Nevergreen wrote: my folder contains both files xxxxxxx_b.jpg and xxxxxxx.jpg Yes, but a movie with a big version of the image, does it still have the small version of the image? For example, 1234567.jpg and 1234567_b.jpg at the same time. Nevergreen wrote: both seems to "download" images every single accessing time and not using the local files. We'll have to test this. I'll first check on my own computer, and if everything's fine for me, I'll go back to you with a test program to check what's happening on your computer. |

Nevergreen wrote: yes, i have both images (from there my question) Ok, it seems to confirm your problem of images being always downloaded from the internet. I'm building the test program. |

Here is the test program: http://www.coollector.com/Coollector_Test.exe The title bar, instead of saying "Coollector Movie Database version 3.25.9", will display the number of movie posters that the program has downloaded from the internet. On my computer, the number is zero when I start the program, and that number increases only if I move to some movies that I haven't already browsed in my previous sessions. What result do you get on your computer? |

Nevergreen wrote: interesting; they say 0 for me too and if i start browsing, it downloads the small images in format When you'll start the program again, will it download again the pictures that were previously downloaded? Can you see the same picture downloaded again and again? Nevergreen wrote: s1234567 also if i hover on the movie cover, than downloading the big picture with b1234567, but my case was with 1234567_b type of images. It's the same. It was easier for me to write it this way, but it's the same. |

Nevergreen wrote: yes, i have both images (from there my question) Have you already downloaded a set of pictures? Because in that case it's possible that you end up with the small and the big image at the same time. |

Nevergreen wrote: i didn't downloaded till now neither the small or the big pack of images. Ok. We need to understand what's going wrong on your system. The first thing we need to determine, is whether the files are always downloaded from the internet. Can you prove it or not with the test program? |
