Suggestion to improve the program . . . Make the entire database downloadable to a PDA. True movie junkies would love it, and current flash memory cards make it very doable in terms of hardware. Would make sure however that the program could be installed to the FLASH card NOT the PDA memory.

In what form ? I'd have to develop a version of Coollector that works on the PDA, isn't it ? Or do you think of something simpler ?

Never heard of something like that. Are you sure it's possible ?

Well, I've already begun working on the iPhone version of Coollector. Right now, I have to concentrate on the desktop version, but in a few weeks I'll go back to it, and hopefully a version will hit the AppStore before the end of the year.

Apart from the iPhone, I have no plan to develop for PDAs. Android is tempting, but Java is a NO NO (I'll wait for the C++ SDK). Outside of iPhone and Android, I'm not very confident in the future of WinCE, WinMo, Symbian, BlackBerry OS, and of course Palm. I think those will slowly fade out.

So I "only" plan to port Coollector to OS X, Linux, and iPhone.

A PalmOS and a Windows mobile version would be good. At the very least add the ability to export/import the data base. Then users could import the records into whatever they are using, for instance SmartList on Palm and Access in Mobile.

Hum, don't hold your breath on a PalmOS version. And a Windows Mobile version is very unlikely too...
IMHO, the only portable OSes with a solid future are iPhone OS and maybe Android (the problem with Android is that it's Java, and I hate Java. Hopefully one day there'll be a C++ wrapper).

In what format do you need to export the database ? CSV would it be ok ? XML ?

Unfortunately, I've had to lower its priority. I don't think I'll work on it until February.

Well, if you think that it should be higher priority, you can express your opinion by answering this poll.

For the moment, you'd have to run Windows with BootCamp or a virtualization software.

We plan to make an OS X version of the program, but not until the begining of next year, sorry.
