Post subject:  Movie Location Help

Currently I have approx 8 TB of movies contained on 3 hard drives. I'm currently tagging my movies with which hard drive they are on. I know I can set my filter to show specific tags but is there a way to make the tag show in the mouse over pop up? For instance lets say I set my filters to Action Movies that I own and have rated excellent, from the resulting list there is no way in the display to know which hard drive the movie is on. When I imported my movies from "All my Movies" database there was a location field which imported and contains the location of each movie (which hard drive) and I can see that but I have to first click the movie then click on the owned movie showing to see the location. Just looking for some way to identify which hard drive the movie is on at a glance on the top level of info.

Any help appreciated.

If you go to the second page of the settings, there's "Movie Info on Mouse Hover".

Would it solve your problem if I added "Tags" to the info that can be displayed?

You'll probably like to know that when you list your playable files, by adding the "video location" filter you can choose to display the content of only one drive at a time (even a specific subfolder of the drive).

That would be a huge help, then I can mouse over a movie and know what hard drive to put in the docking station. Thanks So Much!

Right, I figured that out but if I'm searching for a movie with other filters and want to search all the movies I have, the Tag display in the mouse over would work great.

Thanks Hector, yes sir I'll let you know. One other thing maybe you would know off the top of your head. I've installed Coollector on the computer in my RV and in reading the help files I thought all I had to do to move my collection to the new installation is to copy the MyCoollection.cool file to the new installation and all the work I have done would show up but it's not. Is there something I'm missing ?

First, you have to install Coollector on the RV computer.

Make sure Coollector is closed before copying the .cool file.

Either you copy the .cool file anywhere you want and launch it by double-clicking it, either you place it in the default location and you can launch Coollector directly.

Ok, I did that with the default location for the cool file but I didn't try opening the .cool file directly, I'll try that when I get back from work tonight. Also the modification you made for the mouse over tag display is working like a Charm!! :D You're the Bomb Hector!

You've had to replace the current default coollection file, haven't you? If you didn't replace, you had the wrong place or the wrong name.

So I figured out the issue, somehow the "MoviesDpt" folder was in the wrong location, after moving it to the "Images" folder it started working. So the real issue was that it just wasn't showing the cover art on the movies or actors  . Thanks again

I have a hard time to understand, but if it works, it's good...

So your installer places all the art in the following folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Coollector\Images\MoviesDpt

somehow mine was placed in:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Coollector\Images\MoviesDpt\MoviesDpt

so the app wasn't finding it, moving all the subfolders back one directory level resolved the issue

hopefully that explains it a little better.

Life is Good :)

Cheers
